Below are some critical reviews about Ebikeling Waterproof Electric Bicycle ConversionConverted a 1999 Cannondale M500 with this kit and a 54V 20Ah battery. After 1600 miles, here is my report. (1) The unit stopped working, and there is no response from Ebikeling. I have tried email and direct phone, but the "voicemail is full". This is disappointing, as the unit is still in the 3 month warranty period. If there is no response soon, I will return via Amazon and force a refund, which means everyone loses. (2) When working this is a very good unit. 1200W combined with the 54V battery is quite powerful. (3) The controller is OK, and flakes out sometimes, but it does have "Cruise Control" for those long stretches. This is AWESOME. (4) The outside diameter of the wheel rim is too large and does not meet the spec for a 26" tire. It is a real pain to get a new tire on and off. Special tools are needed and it takes about 45 minutes to change a tire. Investing in very good puncture-resistant tires is a must. Their answer to the rim be oversized was, not kidding, the tire was the wrong size. Really? (5) The controller miss calculates the rolling distance. For 26 x 1.75 tires which run exactly 205 cm in circumference, I had to reduce the controller to 23.7" diameter to match my Cateye and Waze. (6) Two spokes broke on the rear hub. Given this is a road bike only, that is quite unusual. I checked the torque on the remaining spokes and it ranged from finger tight (0) to way over tightened. Again their answer was irresponsible: My torque wrench was off.It's hard to say if other options are better or less prone to failure. I would not recommend you purchase from this company mostly on the horrendous service.
The front wheel product is very heavy and yet despite this, the front wheel will often peel out instead of gaining purchase of the pavement and moving forward. Unfortunately my daughter spun the front wheel and the bike fell over. It was a very mild fall but the second that bike hit the pavement this subpar product buckled and was ruined for good. I have 6 ebikes (4 are bafang conversions one Giant ) and this is by far the cheapest most fragile of them all. One other thing I have to note and definitely dropped them a star that I have been contacted every day about writing a review from the company. They got what they asked for. Cheers!
Bad setup instructions, (non existent actually), video on the website was for the wrong kit, no instructions on how to set up the pedal sensor or the LCD control panel.

I like everything about ebikeling kits.Stay in the 48V battery.52V battery,will throw off the battery indicator+Not provide a longer accurate ride..Have installed 33 of em.I don't use the brake levers.Most of my conversions are MTB thumb or trigger shifters w levers.Easy to wire up,secure to the frame w zippy ties.Ive favored the 48V 1200 watt kits driving the back wheel.Direct drive has Harley Torque w a 20 amp battery.I usually go w USA Battery packs in the triangle form.Batteries balanced in frame make a BIG difference.USA 14.6 amp batteries work well.More Amps=Longer ride time.Enjoy Mikes Bicycle+E-Bike Repairs.
Great product and great service.I now have one 26” rear kit (on a woman’s cruiser for my wife), one 26”X4” kit for my fat tire bike (for rain/weather) and one 700c/29er kit for dry road days when I just want speed. All great. Very configurable.Top speed is ~30-32 MPH (carrying me - a 215 pounder).
I have bought two I three months. One was from murtisol, a now-defunct company on Amazon it seems. It was wires a controller and the technically necessary Parts in their most basic forms. This company went to more lengths with their product, all of the wires were long enough and completely waterproof tight, although my other was labeled a 1000 watt and I purchased the 1200, I feel as though I have more than a 20% increase as I should in speed. If I had a complaint, it would probably be that the LCD read out is a sort of older style programming to control, with long dresses on buttons and what not, but then I'm sure they make these things in touch screen if you want to spend the kind of money that you would think would warrant such technology. I paid more for the ebikeling kit and I would happily do it again, because I spent more making my murtisol work correctly. Also they're one of the few companies that gives enough of a damn to actually include the torque converter for free oh, and you need that so that you don't die
