Below are some critical reviews about Raleigh Bikes Venture Thru ComfortWoaooowww... beautiful, light, well built.. I mean.. I'm borderline ready to get one for my self, as this one was/is for my wife.Super well packaged, tools provided for the very little assembly that's left, I have assembled 5 or 6 bikes these last days (biiiiiig Santa stuff going on), and this one is definitely the best I've seen. Haven't ride it yet, but it's gotta be a pleasure: despite the design reminiscent of the "Dutch" style bike (very very heavy), this bike feel super-light, and very well balanced.Good job, thank you.PS: After assembling, and test-riding: superb. ONE negative note... no kick stand, had to buy it separated... wonder why, every thing is absolutely perfect with this bike.. but anyway.. not a BIG deal. Just surprising, cause the will to get a super-product is obvious, and this stuff is missing.. but again.. the bike in itself is absolutely perfect, and beautiful to look at. Thanks, very satisfied customer.
Wonderful bike! The assembly required was minimal. Just be sure when you attach the front tire, the fork is turned so the brake assembly is outside the frame, not inside the frame. I did have trouble with the gears slipping and not changing, so I took it to a local bike shop and for a small fee, they did a complete tune up to be sure everything is working smoothly. It rides like a dream now! Few things to be aware of though. I had to purchase a kick stand separately, but attaching the adjustable kick stand only took me a few minutes. And the bike doesn't come with fenders, nor can you purchase matching fenders from Raleigh. I ended up purchasing/installing a rack for the back of the bike which also provides the same coverage as a rear fender. Raleigh does not provide matching touch up paint, either. Recommended going to my local hobby store and finding paint to match. Gone are the days when fenders and kick stands were standard on all bikes, but now I'm dating myself and either way... I love my new bike!
I was looking for a bike that my wife can easily get on and off of. The top bar swoops low enough to clear the pedal when the pedal is at the top of the stroke. For the reasonable price (sub $300), Raleigh does a fair job of rounding up reliable components. The most important point is that my wife is comfortable on the bike and is not afraid of falling when she is on this bike. She feels in control. The bike is attractive and solid. I think my wife will get many years out of this. We also looked at offerings from Schwinn (Sierra 1, Sierra 2) but, decided on this based on lower price for this bike. I like the styling of the Sierra 1 slightly better that this.
