Below are some critical reviews about Raleigh Bikes Venture Step ComfortFirst, let me say that we paid$239 for this bike (Raleigh Venture Step Thru Comfort) and this review is based on paying that price. For the person who reviewed this bike and got it on sale for $125, I would consider that to be a more reasonable price for the low quality you are getting.THE GOOD:The frame is painted nice and seems well built. The shifting worked fine during a quick test ride.The seat is comfortable.THE BAD:The tires feel like a mix of cheap rubber and plastic.The rear rim was bent and rubbed on the brake pads.The brakes are very low quality. Even with adjustment, they won't grip the rim with even pressure when squeezing the brake lever.At the $239 price point, I considered the bent rim and low quality of the components on this bike to be completely unacceptable. Thankfully I purchased this from Amazon, so there was no problem setting up a return.
Rear derailer was damaged(bend & twisted) possibily during shipping. Some scratches. Reviews warning of defects(i was warn). If you're not handy with tools and fix things be prepare to return....after taking it all out of box then put back...its a hassle.unfortunately can't give review of bike ride.....
This bike is so comfortable! Saved about $60 by getting the purple model. Easy to assemble, and I've never worked on bicycles before. I'm 5'9", about 200 lbs, and I got the 19" frame.
