Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about NAKTO Electric Assisted Removable Spark MBlack

This is one of the more difficult product reviews I've ever had to write. I waited a long time to receive this ebike from Amazon, and it's taken me a while to determine how I feel about it.GOOD: Let's start with the good. For the money (and even though the price went up $49 after I purchased), this is absolutely the best ebike value you can buy, without question. Keep that in mind when you consider the pluses and minuses of this model. To get a good ebike you would normally have to pay anywhere from $1500-$2000++. Like many of you, I don't have that much money sitting around. Of all the bikes in the under $1000 price range, this model is the only one that gets somewhat decent reviews, has a removable battery, is comfortable to ride, and generally does the job.The bike is solid. The parts are durable (for the most part - see below). The bike feels solid the way 1970's cars with all-steel bodies felt solid. I strongly suspect this bike would survive a bad wreck. The tires are thick and wide. The seat is very comfortable. The handlebars are spaced just right for this kind of bike. Most unusual for ANY ebike (including many expensive ones) is the top speed you get. I was blown away that I can easily achieve 20mph in all-electric mode (often faster on level ground), and easily as fast with pedal-assist. Most ebikes max out at far slower, possibly due to local laws (such as in Germany) that respect the top speed of ebikes to much slower. This high speed makes a long commute realistic, and was my main reason for purchase. So far I have not been disappointed.I love the removable battery! This is probably my favorite feature. Not many cheaper ebikes have a battery you can pull out and carry with you. This will allow me to charge my battery at work under my desk and then bike home. Might be the best reason to buy this ebike at its current price point. There are also little touches I like: The included cargo rack, the old school kickstand with foot latch, and the included bell PLUS electric air horn. And trust me, that horn makes an impression! No one will be in your way when you use it! The electric headlight connected to the battery is also a nice touch (when it stays on - see below).BAD: There are nearly as many troubles with this bike as there are good things. I don't even know where to begin.Let's start with assembly. The instructions have no illustrations! You have to read written instructions and hope you are interpreting them right. I've assembled bikes before, and this one took me far longer than it should.Workmanship is sadly also an issue. I stand by my positive comments about how solid the bike feels, and it is. But a number of parts just feel... cheap. The main problem that other reviewers have mentioned is the headlight falling off. It took some trial and error and a trip to the hardware store to get it to stay on. The numbered gear shift is easy to use, but the lower gears don't align very well to each shift stop; I'm hoping a bike shop will help me adjust it. And then there's what happens if you shift too fast: under hardly any excess tension the chain will pop right off the crankshaft! At least every other ride I find myself having to pull over and put the chain back on. And it's not as easy to re-mount the chain as it is on a conventional bike, due to the chain guard and the unusual shape of the seatpost to accommodate the battery. On most regular bikes you can pull the chain up on to the crankshaft as you pedal forward. But because of the location of the chain guard and the seatpost, I've found the best way to remount the chain is to thread it in reverse. It has taken me some practice.Shipping itself for this bike was a problem. Took a month to arrive. Now I realize that in these times bike deliveries take much longer. But I was frustrated to see the seller print out my shipping label a full week before the actual shipping of the bicycle. (The seller did make contact with me during the long wait, and I appreciate that. I just wish there had been more transparency about the long leadtime.) And when the bike did arrive, the box had a big gash in it. It was so bad that UPS offered to let me refuse delivery.Once I opened the box and assembled my bike I saw that the complete front basket was missing entirely. Did it fall out of the big hole in the box or did the manufacturer forget to put it in there? I reached out to the seller about the missing basket and they offered to send me another one, in a curt note that ended with "please wait a minute." I have not heard back from them since.OVERALL: My review hovers between 3 and 4 stars. I don't regret my purchase at the end of the day, but I do think it was more hassle than it should have been. If the manufacturer ever sends me my missing basket, and if the bike continues to perform well, I may up my review.ebikes are very bleeding edge right now, and it's not usually cheap to build a bike around a brushless motor from the ground up. Buyers should accept that a bike like this will have come with some hassles. Or just wait until you have more money for a better model.

Bike is very heavy. If not using power you will struggle to move.Battery died after 2 months.Very poor customer service: promise to answer within 24 hours, never happened. I asked to have a replacement battery, they first told me "you can buy a charger online_ (knowing I had warranty!).Then when they realized the issue was the battery itself (tried on friend's same battery charger) they promised to send battery supposedly to arrive in a week. It had been a week and on UPS it shows it is not been even picked up yet!In the meanwhile I go to work in the rain and cold on my old bycicle after having paid 650$ to people who only care for profit and do not maintain their promises.Other small issues: the front light does not hold still. When battery is down to 1/3 sometimes it is very slow to react to your commands. The assisted just stops working.

Update: customer service for this company is nonexistent. The service is so bad, I imagine it’s one dude in a garage somewhere in CA using an outdated desktop computer. Ive reached out multiple time for a tracking number for my missing front basket. Nothing. The most I’ve gotten is “wait”. Very frustrating.—————————-The front basket wasn’t included in the box but I’m in love with this bike! I live in Chicago and my only form of transport was public transit until the pandemic hit. This gets me where I need to go pretty fast. The battery lasts longer than I thought. This bike is a little too tall/heavy for me, I’m 5,7” and I have to strain to lift my leg over it. But I manage! If someone could reach out to me about the missing basket - that’d be great. I bought the black basket on the back separately.

Below are some positive reviews about NAKTO Electric Assisted Removable Spark MBlack

I live and cruise on a boat. I have to somehow buy groceries and supplies ashore. An electric bike with saddle bags and my backpack enables me to bring back 6 bags of groceries at around 25 mph and go more than 30 miles without recharging the lithium battery. The 2019 version has a more powerful battery (meaning more speed) and a motor preventing water damage should it start raining. It also comes with two types of baskets designed to carry a six pack of beer or water, and a useful lock preventing someone trying to steal the bike. My alternative would be to use a taxi or Uber - costing $30 or more Using my electric bike costs almost nothing. You too could use the bike to go to work or to the nearest store...…. I notice that TV game shows - such as Let's Make A Deal - offer electric bike prizes at around $1500. Buying one from Amazon costs around $650 including saddlebags and a bike cover. How can you lose!

Took almost a month to ship from California to California and didn't ship for over two weeks after ordering, but I like the bike. A few quirks to it. I believe it was sent with a missing piece as well (left crank bearing cap -(photo included), but not a critical component. Slower than the folder they have, but much more comfortable to ride. If it didn't take forever to ship and wasn't missing a piece, we'd have a 5 star product.

I bought this e-bike for commuting between my house and my working place. When I just received the box I found no any installation instruction and have to search youtube to find one video. Fortunately I found one and eventually got the bike set up. Overall the bike is working as described but it is the only my first month to use this bike. I will get this review updated once I used the bike for 6 months. Hope this will help.
