Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about Diamondback Bicycles Wildwood Classic Complete

I purchased this bike for my husband as a Christmas present. He'd been riding an older mountain bike and wanted something more comfortable for family rides at the park, one with a more upright position, good suspension and the ability to go anywhere. This bike is pretty close to perfect, certainly for the price! He loves it, and having tried it out, I see why. It really is the easiest riding bike I've ever been on, the position you ride in is so much easier, the seat is super comfortable, with suspension in the seat post that keeps the bumps to a minimum, front fork suspension, comfort grips on the handlebars etc. The only upgrade he wishes he had would be disc brakes, but again, this is an entry level bike, you can't have everything.

Additional note: My hubby REALLY loves this bike! He's out several times each week, about 15 miles each day. He previously had skated occasionally, inline skates, but our Georgia summers are killers with heat and humidity, so it was too miserable to skate. This bike is getting him back outside regularly. He especially loves the comfortable seat. I'm happy when he's happy!!This bike was a gift for my husband. He had spotted it at a bike shop and selected it specifically for its comfort features. While it had been years since either of us have ridden a bicycle and we're having to get accustomed to shifting gears again, this bicycle is fun and fast. He had wanted one less aggressive than a pure road bike, but didn't want an off-road mountain bike, either This is the best of both worlds. I must agree with other reviewers who said the installation instructions could have been better (IMHO the result of Diamondback providing one generic instruction manual to serve for several different models) and finding a couple of YouTube videos really helped with fine-tuning the assembly. A large portion of it arrived pre-assembled so the job took about an hour, really not bad at all.I've tried to go on the Diamondback website to register the bike but the website isn't their greatest asset. The drop-down lists block the very portions that are required to complete the registration. Have now tried to register on two different laptops and an iPad but without success. I'll be calling Diamondback to speak to a real human to register, most likely.A friend recently upgraded her comfort bike to a new road bike, paying over $1400 for a non-carbon model. While I'm sure it is a great bike, I'm also convinced that this Wildwood will provide just as much pleasure, but without the hefty price. If you find this review helpful, please let me know by using the voting buttons. I originally purchased a nashbar AT1 because of the great review and the price. However, they sent me a defective crankset (I found out after I finished assembling the bike...bummer). It was upsetting bec I had to disassembled, repackaged, and sent it back. I liked the bike and they were willing to replace it but all the extra work that I did turned me off. So I decided to go with the diamondback wildwood. It was a great decision bec this bike is the most comfortable bike I ever had. If you're just gonna use it for cruising around the neighborhood, the park, or beach with the family, you will not be disappointed with this bike. I highly recommend it. PS...Loving the comfortable spring seat with suspension, the aluminum rims, and the very lightweight frame...
