Very good value e-bike and good responsive Customer SupportI bought this bike to go around town (not for mountain/trail biking) because I live on top of a hill.I have been using it now for less than 100 miles. I purchased it directly from Totem because at that time there was a promotion on their site.So far, it is a great bike to go to the gym and shopping (a 4 mile round trip).Most of the time, if not too tired, I am in level 2 out of 5 to climb the 2 mile 7% grade to my house.After using it for about 6 miles the battery goes down about 15-20%, which extrapolates to about 30-40 miles on a constant 7% grade, which is pretty good.Main reasons for this purchase were:1. USA company (not the parts), better chances of better customer support (which I found to be true!!)2. Good independent review of this specific MX1 bike on YouTube.3. Better geometry/fitting for a 6 foot tall person than the lower priced e-bikes.4. Better components (brakes, gears, derailleur, battery, engine) than lower priced bikes.5. $100 coupon + free/reimbursed Tune-Up.Issues (mostly unrelated to Totem):1.Fedex - rough on the box which caused the back derailleur hanger to bend. Although this issue is not directly related to Totem, perhaps a stronger box and gears protection should be consider.2. UPS- lost the battery. A second battery was sent by Totem after a few days. This issue was not related to Totem but to UPS and Totem kindly allowed me to keep the first battery once it reached me.3. Broke collar of the display at tightening - Totem sent me a new replacement display! Thanks, now I have a reserve display. DO NOT try to tighten the collar, it will brake. Needs a better/stronger/different collar.4. The bike is quite heavy (57lb with the battery, as disclosed by Totem) which may be hard to control, handle and lift for weaker/older persons (like me) or to bike uphill if the battery juice expires. Although when I bike without pedal assist on flatter areas, the bike is surprisingly good.5. The Owner's Guide/manual is very basic. I would suggest adding the Shimano and Brake hardware manuals to the package so owners can service themselves. Nonetheless, non specific Youtube videos are available.The position of the back Tektro disk brake adjustment is behind the motor and almost impossible to reach the adjustment screw. I had to be creative and cut an Allen wrench key short in order to reach it.6. The battery cover is not sitting tight thus, allowing space for possible water penetration. Totem's Customer Service, after reviewing pictures, responded that the fitting is withi their parameters and they will stand behind if related issues occur. Do not wash the bike with the battery in it!7. The handle bag in the Bike/bag package is OK. Ordered for the $100 rebate vs only $50.It is hard to use the phone as designed. I find that keeping my phone on top with an elastic band securing it is more effective and it stays pretty well.8. Customer service is very responsive and helpful after purchase once you have an order number. Must use e-mail tough. The phone will allow you to leave a message.Finally, this bike is a very good value for the price.Recommended!PS.: I triple lock it with a D lock, cable and disk brake lock (Amazon), plus painted my info on it to avoid being stolen. Also purchased the bag, mirror and rack on the picture at Amazon.
