Below are some critical reviews about BAFANG Right Half Twist ThrottleI only write reviews for very good products. This is my first bad review but it involves a safety issue that caused my wife to run into a walker. We have been riding ebikes for almost 7 years. We have been Incident free. I bought this throttle to try out on my bike. I had it on my bike a week. Two times the bike just took off. I thought it was my fault some how. My wife liked the idea of the twist throttle so I put it on her bike. We rode one time with no problem. Last evening we took a ride and what happened to me happened to her. It took off but this time there was a walker on a rails to trails in front of her. I watched as my wife ran right over a woman from behind. She had an ankle injury but claimed she thinks she is ok. I gave her my contact info and apologized over and over. DO NOT BUy THIS THROTTLE. I love bafang products both our bikes are bafang kits. But this is junk and dangerous. The thing causes the bike to take off uncontrollably. My wife and I ride a lot of miles a year. I have close to 13000 miles on my bike. This is not a case of operator error for both my wife and I. I’m waiting for a possible phone call from this poor woman saying that she is hurt badly. Take my word for it. DONT BUY IT.

Nice linear throttle, much nicer than the thumb throttle which is more on/off. I can actually manage a walking speed in low gear with this. Grips aren’t so good so just cut down something nicer.
This is made for replacing your factory thumb throttle. With the BAFANG name behind it you know it's going to be easy to install. Quick, full range action and reliable release. I will be getting another for my next build.
This is a great half twist throttle in my opinion. Been using it for my daily commuter(18 miles a day, 4-5 days a week) for the past 2 months. When I first got it during installation I noticed the plug was slightly malformed so I was worried about destroying the throttle connector to my controller. I believe is slightly bent one of the pins during the install but was about to bend it straight enough to work. Luckily I was about to get the connector plugged in and since then I couldn't be happier. Read some bad reviews before buying saying the throttle caused peoples bikes to take off without then engaging throttle. I have not experienced that. I still keep my old thumb throttle in my pannier bag just incase I need to quickly swap out throttle because the throttle might cause a safety issue. Was thinking about going the CitizenCycle(YouTube) route and turning my main commuter to a dual motor, dual controller, dual throttle, dual battery(basically 2 ebikes mashed with into 1). If I did I would buy a right hand half twist.TL;DRGood throttle. Slight installation issue. Not experiencing some of the issues other buyers have experienced. Would buy again.
