Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about AW Electric Bicycle Front 470RPM

Delivery wasn't bad, installation was a breeze. After about 2 weeks, the power button wouldn't stay engaged unless it was clamped or taped. So wrote the supplier and suggested that a replacement throttle assembly would solve the problem. Then the motor wouldn't go. After a week of back and forth, they agreed to send a replacement throttle. Nearly 3 weeks later, I still haven't received the replacement throttle. I'm now looking to send the whole thing back for a refund. Not a happy camper...BEWARE

This was a pain in the butt to get together, and once we had it all set, we realized that it doesn't come with the battery. My bike resells at $450, this e-wheel was $250, a new battery that should just come with the conversion kit IMO is roughly $200, then you have to factor in that this kit also doesn't come with a tire, so you either have to pry the one off your bike and risk damaging your rim, or buy a new tire altogether, and keep in mind that unless you want to dish out extra for a pro shop to do this for you, you are the one putting in the effort and labor on your own...it would have equated to well over $1500 when all was said and done. Not only does this kit not come with a battery (which is not as obvious to the buyer as the fact that it doesn't come with a tire, make sure to read and re read the description), to return the damn thing was $25 because the seller wanted to make sure that I knew that I was the idiot and not them, which, yes, it is my fault for not noticing that it doesn't come with the battery included, but most modern companies offer a free return option if you don't love the product within 30 days. Ridiculous.

CRY!!! hours down the toilet. Here is what is happening.1) Installed wheel with disk brakes on the left per instructions2) Plugged in Wheel just stutters when throttle3) Disconnected and re-connected controller to motor wire - Now it works << BUT WHEEL SPINS BACKWARDS >> wtf...4) Every time I turn it on and off. the wheel still stutters and does not spin. this is fixed by un plugging and the controller to motor wire5) I actually reversed the wheel on the bike frame so I could use it6) Did the plug and un plug so it could work, then went for a ride7) Motor was a bit stuttering after a few bumps.. then... Wait for it.... Wheel started spinning the correct direction (Which was now reverse on my bike)8) Walked the bike 2 miles home9) Reversed the wheel10) when I plugged it back in.. it was going reverse again.... so un did and reversed the wheel again (now 3rd time)I am nervous as all heck to use this. Here is where I ended up1) Wheel installed in reverse2) If I only plug in the control to motor wire 1/2 way. the bike seems to go and not stutter every time power is turned on and off. This is my 3rd electric bike build. I triple checked everting. there are no mis wirings. Motor to controller is correct with arrow to arrow... Photos attached. So annoying. Avoid this product unless you have endless time on your hands.

Below are some positive reviews about AW Electric Bicycle Front 470RPM

I've been a bicycle mechanic for 20+ years so this thing made plenty of sense to me. That being said if you aren't mech savvy then get a kit with better instructions because this kit has none. Otherwise it's very intuitive. Quality is top notch. Nice rim, good connectors, and nice components! Super happy with this purchase.

I'm an industrial designer and I spend a lot of time looking at the way things are made. The mechanical bits on this wheel are SOLID. The wheel itself is double-walled and made of relatively thick steel and the handlebar accessories (including all the switches and brake levers) are suitably well made. There are a couple questionable plastic pieces here and there in non-critical locations which, given the apparent quality of everything else, don't feel like they belong. The instruction manual is pretty straightforward as well. This is not a normal bike wheel; it is as wide as indicated in the description of the item. Other reviews have been unfairly critical because the wheel doesn't fit into the forks on whatever bike they wanted to electrify. If you don't have a fat bike fork, this wheel will not fit- it's not even close.I'll update the review once I get some mileage on the motor. If there's no update here, assume everything went really well.
