Below are some critical reviews about TopMate ES31 Electric Scooter Mini Suspension AssistanceTo ride this tricycle with confidence, one needs strong legs, full neurological control of balance and proprioception, and a small body type. I am six feet tall, weigh 190 lbs., over 70 years old, and I've concluded, after several spills and bruises this tricycle, it was definitely was not for me. I believe only people with full coordination should attempt to ride this tricycle. I eventually gave it to a young relative who sprained a wrist and banged up a knee enough that she required a trip to the ER. My bad.
The factory workers played a "funny trick". The axle bolts that need to be removed to install the longer axle are anchored with permanent locktite. It took a two ft. breaker bar and two people to remove the bolts. Be sure to follow the video exactly !
The scooter finally arrived-without the extended axel. The fight was on to get the extended one. When it finally arrived, the fenders would NOT fit on the axel. Sorry to say, but given the chance, i would have bought another brand of scooter.

Bought this for my 80 year old, 5' wife when we go to Florida three months every year. Most of the locals use golf carts to get around but that's not practical for us. This is the perfect substitute.She's gotten a lot of complements on this little trike. When someone called it "nifty" I thought that summed it up perfectly. At $650 it's a great value.In one of the earlier reviews someone mentioned getting the "Schwinn Cruise Noseless Bicycle Saddle". Got it from Walmart for $19.95 and it's worth every penny.
Great folding tricycle. Plenty of power for up to a 20% incline, lots of range and cool look. The three speeds make it safer to maneuver slowly inside (Speed 1) or zoom quickly outdoors (Speed 3). I'm in Speed 2 most of the time. Took about an hour of practice in an empty parking lot to get the hang of maneuvering but now it's second nature.Downside are minimal. Instructions are vague and confusing but if you mess with the unit you will figure it out. Steering handle attachment is friction fit with (2) hex screws (tool included), should have a key/keyway connection. Folded position could do with a latch of some sort to make it easier to put in the trunk of the car. Those are minor issues, overall a well engineered and well made product.
I am a disabled average-height woman and I was able to go on errands with significantly less pain by riding this bike. I had a lot of difficulty setting up this bike because of pain and because the instructions don't include details that I required since I have little technical ability and had never ridden an electric bike or motorcycle. It is important to extend the bike first then raise the seat. I raised the seat first and the bike got jammed when I tried to extend it, so I had to take it to a bike shop to set it up correctly.The box arrives with tools, so it's not necessary to own tools to do the setup. Yet, I was unable to setup the front wheel correctly. It was not attached to the handlebars. The repairman had to fix that problem also.I'm glad I got the bike, but I want to warn buyers that the setup procedure is not simple. The bike has a device that has a white light and horn, but I was unable to set it up by myself so I connected it with a spare wire from the packaging. It is not secure and moves forward. Also, when I rode the bike to the supermarket two miles away I realized that I need mirrors, so if you buy this bike you must purchase at least 2 mirrors for safety.I watched a lot of videos to learn how to setup and ride this bike. To go forward you have to rotate the right handle backwards. To stop or slow the bike you have to rotate the handle forwards. Maybe this is the standard procedure for every scooter, but I had to carefully watch a video several times to figure that out because I have never ridden a motorized vehicle before except the supermarket scooters which have different handlebars.I strongly recommend practicing on a large flat area such as an empty parking lot to learn how to ride this bike if you are inexperienced. There will be trouble if you are riding on a slanted sidewalk or road, encounter potholes, or there are rocks and other objects on the road. You must be on the alert every second looking at the road surface and watching for cars, people, and animals who might suddenly appear. Also, the ad said this bike goes 15 miles-per-hour but the instruction book said the maximum speed is 13 miles-per-hour.
