I'm 5'7" and the medium frame fits me well. I have carpel tunnel and the upright position and ergonomic hand grips make for a pain-less ride compared my old mountain bike with a lot of pressure and awkward positioning of my wrist. This bike is sturdy yet light and my boyfriend was able to assemble it in under an hour with never putting a complete bike together before. The shifters are smooth and easy to use compared to my old twist type. The gel seat is a great stock seat for short rides under 5 miles but for longer rides, I may have to invest in something a little more comfy. My friend lived my bike so much that she got the same one and even though she is only a little over 5 feet tall, the medium frame for her well.
I purchase this bike for my wife (5'7) and she LOVES it! It's comfortable and easy to ride. In the past she has had a hard time getting "comfortable" on a mountain bike. This bike has a nice comfy seat, and with the extra dampening on the seat post, and more upright position, my wife finds it very comfortable.If you've never adjusted bike brakes or derailleurs, I would suggest you take it to a bike shop to have this done properly, or you can go DiamondBack's website and watch their tutorial videos... My second Diamondback bike - great product. Had my last one for 10 years and just wanted a new one - love the lower bar, but had to buy a new bike rack now that the low bar doesn't "hang" onto our current bike rack. So I also had to buy a bike rack where you set the tires in it. But it's more secure anyhow so ok. Just something to think about though, when purchasing.Love the bike, love the color, perfect.
