Below are some critical reviews about ANCHEER Commuting Removable Professional Derailleur

This electric Ancheer bike ride good only 3 times and electric motor completely stopped working. Totally useless leaving me miles from my home. I contacted Ancheer, owned by Yobido in China, through Amazon website, and they approved a return shipment THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR! UPS told me It would cost $1300 to ship an $800 bike back to China!!! I have since contacted Ancheer and Yobido for weeks WITH ZERO RESPONSE whatsoever. NEVER BUY ANCHEER BIKES FROM CHINA!!!! Horrible customer service and not I’m out $800 bucks!!!!!

I put the bike together which was not difficult. I cannot get it to work. The display works, but the bike will not work. I tried to contact customer support, but never received a reply. I contacted Amazon to see if I can return it Amazon took 48 hours to get back to me with a response. They informed me that I have to put the bike back in the original package, and take it to a shipper of my choice. (Kohl’s could not take it), I have to pay to return a defective bike. I am very unhappy with this purchase. ☹️

I bought this bike along for my wife. I had similar problems with assembly as mine put together a few days before. The assembly instructions are fairly worthless. The manual has tiny pictures that you can't see. There was a small business card that had a bar code to scan to go to assembly instructions. When I scanned the card, it kept taking me to the Facebook Messenger APP in the Play Store. Useless. Also, note that it kept referencing "ANCHEER.com" as the website which is incorrect. The correct website is "IANCHEER.com" When I pulled the frame out of the box, a hex nut dropped onto the floor. No idea what it was for, or where it came from. But made note of it. When it came time to install the rack on the back of the bike, it needed a specific sized screw and a nuts. It also needed to small (about 6" long) metal bars. I just happened to look in the bottom of the box and there were two bars, a nut and two screws, loose in the bottom, no packaging, nothing securing them to the box. Pure luck that the box didn't have any holes for these items. There was no instruction on how to install the bars. This was trial an error as they need very specific orientations. One of the screws that holds the rack on was too short for the basket and frame. Fortunately, a trip to Home Depot saved the day and I was able to find an M5 screw that was long enough to hold. There is nothing in the manual that tells you there is an on/off switch on the battery itself that must be engaged before you can turn on bike, along with turning on the key....At least the manual showed how the small screen works. There was a small tag on a bar on the derailleur that said it was for protecting the derailleur in shipping, and if it was bent, to pull on it and straighten it. Good luck on pulling this bar! Fortunately, mine was intact. But then the questions? is it just for shipping and supposed to be removed? Or is it permanent? After I found the IANCHEER website, I was able to locate pictures of the bike, with the bar on. So I have to assume it stays on...Sheesh. You have to be a detective to assemble these bikes.

Below are some positive reviews about ANCHEER Commuting Removable Professional Derailleur

When I got it out of the box and put it together, I was surprised at the quality. Then I took it filled the tires with air and got on and pulled back the throttle. I weigh 235 and it pulled me rather quickly. I discovered that can go almost 20 mi on a charge in pedal assist mode. And there were some pretty steep hills on some of my treks. Thats the beauty of this bike, you can go full speed on flat to semi hilly roads. And then when you hit those steep hills you have plenty of energy to tackle them, and the pedal assist helps all along the way. For me its the perfect marriage of exercise and being able to go where i want to go without being exhausted.

I purchased this bike because it doesn't look like a typical e-bike with that monstrosity of a battery along the frame where my water bottle should be. The battery on this bike sits under the rear bike rack where nobody will notice. The bike looks like a regular bike and rides like one too. No need to turn the battery on if you would like to get some exercise and ride around the town. The 6 speeds are ample enough to ride comfortably and maneuver the hills. The seat is comfortable and I am glad I don't have to purchase a more comfy seat. The handlebars are upright and I don't have to strain my back. The bike is a little heavy to put in your car or carry up the stairs though. It is a larger bike; I am a light, F at 5.5' but it is not much of an issue when riding the bike at all because I got the seat low enough. The step through frame makes it easy to get on and off the bike. The bike took about two hours for me to assemble, but I took my time. The hardest thing was to align the front wheel to make sure the brakes don't rub. If they do, take it to your local bike shop to tune it up and make sure all is well with assembly. I found that I could not lower the seat all the way because the battery was in the way. I changed the notches along the rack mount so it would allow seat to be lowered another inch perhaps. The front wheel doesn't have that quick release lever, so just make sure you tighten the bolts in. Maybe you can replace bolts with quick release.I took it for a ride in my neighborhood and was able to figure out the control pad in just a few seconds. I found that the throttle was a blast right away. The assist modes were startling as it is delayed and accelerates to a max speed. Best to engage the assist modes when already at a faster pace. The throttle is great because it has wider range of sensitivity than the assist mode and is instantaneous. I took the bike on a packed sand trail to test it out and I found the bike was a little hard to control, the front wheel felt light and wobbly. Bike is meant for the street or packed dirt path and rides fine in these conditions. The battery is still at about 3 out of 5 bars after almost 20 miles of cycling so far so that is good news. The throttle is my favorite e-bike feature, and it can give you that little boost when you need and can keep you out of trouble as most people can't run faster than 20 MPH :).Pros:Looks like a regular bike and rides like one without E-bike functions - no resistance.Looks cool, well made and a comfortable ride with good seat.Battery is decentThrottle is great, good range of sensitivity.Has front and rear lights and a horn.Has a USB port for charging devices on the battery.Cons:Bike is heavy and on the larger side.Assist modes are delayed and abrupt, be careful of the acceleration and what's in front of you like people or traffic . Works fine if already at fast pace.Bike has motor in rear, so heavier and balance is off. Lighter in front and can pop wheelies if too fast or out of control. Lean forward.Brakes are not great, use both left and right.Handlebars/front wheel are wobbly, normal due to heavier rump.

I was skeptical about buying a "bike" of any kind for 900 bucks but decided after 5 back surgeries I needed an EBike. I chose the ancheer ebike because of the adjustable 3 way handle bars, the spring loaded seat and the front fork suspension. Ive been riding now for 10 days and have put 100 miles on it. I really like it alot!! Its smooth and quiet and comfortable. Now the cons.... the brakes are weak especially the rear. I even paid a mobile bike repair man to come out and try to adjust them and he also went thru the whole bike from front to back.. only 60 bucks,,, I tried but couldnt adjust properly,,, its running its best now, so expect alittle tweeks here and there.... It could use a 7th 8th or 9th gear in my opinion too. I know that now when I look to upgrade in a few years perhaps.... anyways,, I recommend buying it but be prepared to figure out most of the assembly yourself as it is in broken english and some things are even in the instructions like hooking up the orange wires to make the assist work... common sense prevailed there...I emailed seller and they have responded all 3 times but it was vague , thus me paying a dude 60 bucks to just go thru it....... over all, yes a nice entry level bike with plenty of power for the foothills of the Ozarks!! I get 30-35 miles out of a charge by using LOW assist only,,,,,, enjoy!
