Day 1 observations: 57 lbs with battery. Assembly was simple with all of the tools included. Cute electric horn. Operating instructions could have been better. Bike does not have front fork suspension as shown in feature illustration. I bought a Merax Electric Mountain bike 7 months ago from Amazon in the same price range, and have been very happy with it. (I saw no point to buy a $1500 -$2000 bike from other companies because no one provides hardware specs until you go much higher in prices. So I assumed that motor, gears, etc. are the same whether you spend $700 or $1700) Amazon no longer carries the Merax, so I bought this Ancheer one. The Merax was better in that it gave you 5 levels of pedal assist and Ancheer only gives you 3, so pedal assist it is harder to adjust match speed to companion biker. Also, Ancheer requires you to turn off all pedal assist in order to throttle. The Merax allowed you to throttle at any time. You have to keep the key in battery of the Ancheer for it to operate. I guess that I will get used to that.At this price point it seems like a pretty good bike. I'll update my review after I have put some miles on it.
The construction on this bike is very good and the wire management is very good. I have been on the bike multiple times and you can use this like a scooter, because you do not have to pedal this bike. It is fast enough and the power assist is very noticeable above level 1 riding. It has three levels of assist, on the third level you barely have to pedal, the bike moves you along quite well.Many people complain about the tires, if you fill them with air properly before riding you will have much better luck. I noticed a comment about no front spring, I was disappointed when I first got the bike, but now I am happy it does not have that, when breaking hard it can cause you to nose dive, this is not meant to be a mountain bike, it is meant as a in town Commuter bike. A great first E-bike purchase I am very happy so far and I will update at the end of summer.
Everything was easy to assemble, but had a missing disc brake pad for front wheel. So I rode around only using my back brakes. One week later I updated bike with missing brake pad and everything runs great. Not heavy at all. Easy to pedal like a regular bike as well.
