Received the bikes in excellent condition and assembly was pretty easy. Solid construction but one of the bikes came with a mismatched battery and keyset. Trying to get a replacement key has been problematic. Giving this review 2 stars, taking 3 off due to disappointing customer service. Once I get the correct set of keys, I will adjust review based on how this issue was handled.
Beware of vendor: BerivioThe Bike is ok for the cost. The pudding without assist is mushy. Electric assist kicks in jerky and strong. But you do get a decent ride.Here’s the problem: I have been a Prime customer since Amazon only sold books! This was my first product return nightmare. The bike was easy to assemble, and I rode it all the next day. There was a very loud squeak/squeal in the back tire that only when away momentary when I pump the rear brake. Only for it to return. It was loud enough for bystanders to take note of my riding by.I received approval for the vendor to return the product IF I paid the shipping. Amazon agreed to reimburse me the shipping fee. So, all good, right... HOWEVER, the return label was for a location in China. The bike, which cost me a total of $749.34 was shipped to me from NJ. I boxed it up, went to UPS and was informed it would cause $1,000.00 to ship the bike to the given address in China.I immediately called Amazon and was told they would email the vendor and they would have another 48 hours to respond. They responded. Only this time it was not about the already ‘approved to return’, it was about sending pics of the problem and providing remediation assistance. That is when they became disingenuous. To them, it was ok for me to return the bike if I shipped it to China, paid the fee…bike gets lost, I don’t get a refund and I must take the insurance claim route.When they are requested to provide a pre-paid return label and State side ‘ship to’ address, now its…’what did you say the problem is with the bike…let’s help you fix it.’ Sorry the bike is now boxed and ready to be returned.I had to call Amazon again and an investigation was opened, and Amazon has assured me I will be made whole. THAT is why I have done business with Amazon for many years…they are legit!This is their instructions:“If you cannot use the label or carrier provided by berivio, you can ship your return package using a carrier of your choice. So far, the 500 W bike is an excellent bike. While the seating position to the handlebars maybe uncomfortable when you're riding it for a while or for a lot of other people, the bike overall is and seems to be an excellent bike. The battery, when fully charged, lasts quite a while on various types of terrain and pavement. I would recommend buying the spike, and have recommended it to all of my friends that still have pedal bikes. The battery, and charging it, we're very confusing at first, but once I contacted the seller, they were nice enough to help me figure it all out.
The battery had been recalled about 6 months ago and I've haven't heard anything back from Ancheer about a replacement. But, if it doesn't catch fire, I'll enjoy using it again in the springtime. Fun to ride!
Very easy to assemble. Love the Cruise mode, if you hold the throttle at any speed (as slow as 5 MPH) for 8 seconds it goes into cruise and holds the speed without having to hold the throttle. I'm trying to find out if the 5 pedal assist modes have custom settings for the power/speed. The only thing I don't like is the location of the 2 buttons for the pedal assist, they are small and on the bottom left edge of the display. I may leave the pedal assist on 0 and use the throttle and cruise control instead. I don't understand why they call it the Classic Max on Amazon, the book or bike has no mention of Classic Max the bike has Ancheer Gladiator on it. Its 48V 500 Watt. Only time will tell how it holds up.
