Shipping was on time first bike showed up very quick the second bike showed up 4 days later. First box was in great shape, the second box was a little damaged but not enough to damage bike.this bike is great for me i am 6.2 and 225. i changed the seat to a C9 seat for 40.00. just ordered a stem extension for my handle bar for more comfort for me.i will up date on battery usage in about a month to give me a change to see what the bike really dose.one thing i know is this bike books. 23 mph so farUPDATE 1-26-2023took this bike to LBJ nation Park in Fredricksburg TX. we enjoyed our ride, on pavement and some loose dirt trails. there was roaming hills and the pedal assist did real good and held up pretty good and we enjoyed the ride. NOW the bad thing is that at the end of our ride both my wife and i loaded the bikes up on our bike rack and noticed that the her back tire went flat and the front tire was loosing air. she has the 26 inch ancheer MD e-bike. My bikes back tire was loosing air as well. Both bikes have the same brand tire just hers is 26 inch and mine is 27.5.we got back to the cottage and i found very small stickers were in the tires. these stickers very so small i could hardly see them. People these are mountain bike they should have tires that are tough enough to handle light riding and not go flat easier then my granddaughters beginners bike...second problem is the breaks are very very squeaky. they stop ok but remember these are disc brakes so they don't stop on a dime. I am dropping my rating to a 3 star and will update after another month. plus give amount i had to pay to replace all 4 tires on these bikes.

So far I have had the bike for about a year with about ~1000km on the bike.It maxes out at 32km per hourI have been using almost entirely in pedal assist mode and the battery seems to last about 20 miles before needing to be charged. The pedal assist is nice especially on hills. I did find its best to set the pedal assist to 0 or 1 when in tight places as it tends to want to take off and lurch when you are trying to move slowly in a tight space.Noteworthy1. The brakes are definitely undersized based on the weight of the bike. I commute about 25 miles a week and find they need to be adjusted every few weeks and replaced after a few hundred kilometers.2. Parts are hard to find - probably because it's not a common brand and the seller doesn't offer replacement parts.3. The rear wheel has a bit of a bounce, but can't really be trued up - probably due to the weight.4. The bike is heavy and the majority of the weight is on the rear as a result the tires and brakes wear quickly. It also tends to get more flat tires on the rear.AssemblyAssembly instructions are pretty bad and the pictures/illustrations are so dark they are worthless.I had an issue getting the front wheel on because the disk brake caliper was closed too far to allow the disk to fit. It took a little bit to figure out how to release them (no instructions on that). There are really no instructions on how to turn the bike on, operate or work the different modes. I finally figured out you have to press the button on the battery then press the on button on the display to turn the bike on.The issues I encountered out of the box1. The front shock absorbing fork has a cap that allows the rider to lock/unlock the shock absorber. The cap was missing when it arrived and I have not been able obtain a replacement from the seller.2. I am not able to change the setting from Km to miles. I found some references to a fix , however have tried without success holding down the + & - buttons simultaneously. Again no response from the sellerOverall a decent e-bike for getting around the neighborhood, exploring or commuting 10 - 15 miles round trip.

Really liked this bike until front wheel bearings resulted in both sounds and spinning motion indications of being defective.Upon disassembly and inspection, 4 of the steel balls comprised in the complete bearing for the right side were found to be defective. One ball was exceptionally defective. My guess is that all were defective when manufactured. Been riding bikes for over 70 years and am an aerospace engineer.Trying to deal with customer service difficult, possibly due to language problems. Started on July 17 with messages describing the problem and requesting OK to take to local bike shop or to receive sufficient parts to fix on my own. At their July 21 request, we sent pictures of the bad bearings. On July 22 they stated "we can ask the factory to send 'A set of axle skins and strips' to help fix this issue."This was pretty cryptic, so I responded on July 22: "I have no way of knowing what is included in “A set of axle skins and strips”. A parts list or pictures would disclose whether or not the bike could be made usable with the intended shipment, and the effort worthwhile. " and "I’m hoping that a complete front wheel bearing system will be included. Without that, the bike is useless, and must be scrapped."It is now August 9 and I've not heard back from Ancheer. So, in summary:The bike is scrap. You will be exceptionally disappointed if depending on the Ancheer factory to correct disabling problems caused by manufacturing defects. My highest end 24 speed, 27.5” “Blue Spark” Ancheer became inoperable because of obviously defective parts being used in assembly. Communication with Ancheer was began well within the warranty period, and included detailed descriptions and close-up pictures of the defective parts. Initial emails were answered, but corrective action was ignored, even though the cost of replacement parts would have been negligible to the factory. Why throw good money after bad by seeking local corrective help at buyer expense, considering potential future problems to be expected from shoddy workmanship?

I have owned this bike for a few weeks now and so far have put 140 miles on it according to the built-in computer. My primary use for this bike is for getting around Boston since I don't drive and the T is always crowded. Over this time I have made some observations about each component found on this bike, here is what I have to say.Initial assembly:This bike comes in a very, very large box since it comes mostly assembled, only the front wheel and handlebar needs to be attached using the included tools. I also unpacked the battery and charger first to get the battery charging while I put everything together. The package shipped from California all the way to Mass so I was a bit worried the condition it would arrive in. The box arrived with one hole in it and it was the guard over the rear derailer was bent inwards, it was easily bent back out and no damage was done. The gears do need to be tuned out of the box, and since I am new to that, I took this bike to a local shop to have everything checked over and tuned properly. The Battery/Motor:due to my height (6'3), I opted for the Blue Spark model which has bigger wheels and also a bigger battery and motor compared to the other available models. The motor has 6 different assist levels, 0 being pedals only and no motor, 5 being full motor assistance whenever pedaling. The twist throttle can be used any time except for level 0. I weigh about 205 lbs and on a flat surface the motor has no problem accelerating me up to the max speed of 20mph and can maintain that speed well if on flat ground. Being only a 350w motor, the power isn't anything too competitive but it is more than enough for my daily riding. The motor is also extremely quiet to the point others can't immediately tell this bike is electric. The battery takes approximately 6 hours to charge from completely dead, but I have yet to fully drain this battery. my longest ride so far has been 13 miles and that only drained the battery halfway using only electric for most of the ride.Drivetrain:The Blue Spark comes with Shimano Altus gears installed. Since I have no experience tuning bike gears, I left that to my bike mechanic. With everything tuned properly, the gears work smoothly and are completely silent when pedaling. The gears shift reliably using paddle shifters and so far I have had no issues with them. The only thing I would prefer is a higher gear ratio, when the bike is at 20 mph, even with the highest of the 24 gears selected, I feel like I am pedaling faster than I should be. I understand this is a mountain bike and that is the reason for the lower gears but I will get into that in the next section.Suspension:With this being a mountain bike, I expected the suspension to be on par with my previous mountain bike that this bike has replaced. The front suspension fork on this bike seems like it would get the job done being that it has the option to be locked and the stiffness can also be adjusted just by turning a dial. In my experience, however, the suspension handles nothing like I would expect from a mountain bike. Minor bumps and potholes are managed by the front wheel but the rear wheel always feels quite harsh. My primary use for this bike is on streets and occasionally riding thru grass/wooded areas. Even on seemingly light offroad paths, every bump is enough to shake this bike uncomfortably. If you plan to do any type of serious mountain biking, I would look elsewhere since this suspension isn't built for it.Brakes:This bike comes with mechanically actuated disc brakes. One of the first things I noticed was the brakes required significantly more force to stop compared to my old bike which used rim brakes. I talked to my bike mechanic about this and he suggested for a higher speed bike like this one along with a heavier rider like me, to upgrade to hydraulic brakes since it will allow for easier braking and eliminate the risk of snapping a brake cable in the future. I had Shimano hydraulic brakes installed on this bike and the braking performance has been much better. The brakes did cost me close to $300 but I believe it was worth it for the improvement is performance and safety.Customer Service:Before I ordered this bike, I ordered the cheaper option offered by Ancheer, but I changed my mind after and ordered the Blue Spark for its larger wheel size. Since I only ordered the other bike 30 minutes ago, I emailed Ancheer and requested they cancel the order. If you ever need to contact this company, be prepared to wait... a lot.Their customer service Based in some other country so the only time I recieve a response from them is around 4 in the morning and it's usually in broken english. Being that I ordered the bike on a Friday afternoon, they did not contact me until Monday morning only to tell me that the bike already shipped and there is nothing they can do. I didn't buy that for a second, though, since the tracking showed FedEx did not pick it up until Monday night. After some confusion with my mailroom, I had the incorrect bike returned to the sender to avoid any extra shipping charges which did end up working. Ancheer, however, stopped responding to my emails for a few days and it ended up being a few weeks of back and forth emails with them to sort out the bike. After a few weeks though, I did finally get my money back on the wrong bike. The only issue I've had with the Blue Spark is the instructions for the bike computer not being included and I had no idea how to reset the milage for the trip. Ancheer was able to send me a pdf of the instructions the next day, thankfully.I'd recommend this bike to anyone who is interested in electric bikes but doesn't want to make a larger investment to something more powerful quite yet. If you are planning to ride on anything other than roads or maybe a dirt path, I suggest you research other bikes since this suspension isn't up for it.UPDATE 11/1/19After finishing a ride last night, I noticed my rear tire was vibrating a bit, not thinking much of it I brought the bike in to charge for the night. When I returned I found my rear tire to be completely flat. I found one very small hole on the tire that looks like it was punctured by a needle. I will be replacing the rear inner tube now. I also need to purchase a wrench for the back wheel since the correct size for that wheel was not included with the bike.

I've had this bike for 4 days and put about 30 miles on it with no problems! The seat is terrible but I figured it would be so I ordered another that will be here soon. I'll probably never go on any difficult trail as I'll be riding it to work and back daily (about 11 miles round trip). There are a few big hills in San Francisco, and a lot of small hills and the power assist is really cool! The battery life is less than I hoped but still will be fine for my needs. It came with a headlight that was junk so I bought another one. I put a back rack and saddlebags on it for my laptop and work clothes and it all seems to be working great! I'd guess that within 6 months 2 others in my household will be buying the same thing.I haven't figured out how to view the screen in MPH instead of KPH, but I'm dealing with it.It has disk brakes and i'm having difficulty finding replacement pads... maybe they never wear out? I donno….Overall I live this bike and would highly recommend it!!!11 months later I've been riding this bike to and from work, 15 mile round trip with 4 really big hills, and still enjoying it. The battery is losing it's umph and needs to be charged twice a day and probably soon will need to be replaced. I finally found brake pads that nearly fit, and I was able to machine them down to the proper size.I've just had a bump in the road: Heading out to work I noticed the charger light was not showing green and I assumed I had forgotten to plug it in the night before. No, it was fully charged so I headed out. In a half mile in the whole bike went dead and would not come back on. Went back home and plugged it in, the bike came on and showed a full charge. I took the bus to work that day but the next day the exact same thing happened again. It's nearly impossible to ride this bike without the power because you are dragging the motorized wheel along like a little kid on roller skates. It's doable, but really hard on any hill and you'll never get it over 10 mph.I've contatcted Ancheer and finally got a reply to my email... no one has returned any phone message I have left. This may be a battery issue but I don't want to spend $385 if the bike is shot. I'm looking for local shops who diagnose these things and I may be on to one, we'll see. The person answering my email only asked for my Amazon order number, but I hope they will have some advice for me. Maybe it's just a software reset, I'm hoping.I was told by another user that the factory battery has a lifetime of 800 cycles, meaning you can charge it 800 times and then it's shot. I'm on about 600 since I have to charge it morning and evening. There is an aftermarket replacement that says it's good for 1,000 recharges...Continued: I spoke to a very nice man at an Ebike repair shop and he told me that without question my battery was dead and needed to be replaced. I ordered a different brand that is the same size and shape and it uses the better and newer samsung batteries for only $220.00. I had to rewire it to fit my bike which was pretty simple but took an hour of mostly double checking as I didn't want to fry my bike controller. It works great again, I am back on the road. After doing a lot of reading I've learned it is essential to give the bike a full charge before using it the first time (which I didn't do originally). In fact, the first 5 or 6 charges are very important for the live of the battery. The original battery was good for 800 cycles, or charges, but I probably brought that down to 600 cycles because of sloppy charging practices. My new battery is good for 1,000 cycles and by not overcharging it It'll probably last me 14 to 16 months which is not bad for $220.00; I'd spend $2500.00 on bus fair in that same time.I've put 3,500 miles on this bike in just over a year and except the battery problems it has been an exceptional purchase. Fixing flats is easy, the brakes and shifting apparatus are all Shimano brand which is great quality, I just bought a new chain for $17.00 and will install it soon, while I'm at it I'll probably replace the brake pads so I don't have to deal with it later. Those two items, besides normal tire and tube replacement, are the only things that have worn out on my bike!I have huge saddle bags on a custom made (by me) bike rack and I regularly carry all kinds of heavy things to and from work, I ride in the fog often, but never in the rain, up steep hills and back down, and this bike has just kept going! When I replace a tube I lovingly wipe the whole bike down to make it look new again, and it really does mostly look like it did out of the box. Very good quality paint.

UPDATE - 500 MILES AND COUNTING:I am still very happy with this purchase, and in fact have purchased a second one just a month later. This bike rides smooth, fast, and handles well. I have taken it off-road through mud, dirt and grass and it has handled everything I have thrown at is so far. I normally ride with Pedal Assist mode in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd speed... occasionally 4 or 5 for fun. I don't use the throttle much but it's a great option if you need a burst of speed. My 6'3" son-in-law rode it and it fit him fine, so it really does range from 5'2" to at least 6'3". Don't hesitate on this bike, probably the best option under $1k on Amazon.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I settled on this bike after several months of research. I was looking for an eBike under $1k and wanted to get the best bike for the money. While there were several close competitors in this class of eBike, I chose the Ancheer Blue Spark for the following reasons:1. Great value2. Mountain/Hybrid type - it looks like a classic mountain bike3. Pedal Assist AND Throttle options4. Excellent speed - up to 20mph5. Excellent range - up to 25 miles throttle only, up to 60 miles with pedal assist6. Great manual (24-speed) and electronic (5-speed) options7. Moderate standover height - small enough for my 5'2" wife8. Top 2 in class by most online reviews9. Excellent Amazon reviews overallSome concerns:1. No cargo rack, standard or optional (no problem, I added a 3rd party backrack)2. Several negative reviews on manufacturer support/response for customer questions and problems3. Some reviews complained about assembly challenges and lack of display instructionsAssembly – Took just over an hour. Straightforward and simple. The bike comes 85% assembled. All you have to do is attach the handlebars to the stem, rotate the fork 180 degrees (it’s shipped backwards for space reasons), install the front wheel in the dropouts, install the pedals, install the seatpost, connect the electronics, connect the battery (charge it fully first), and make adjustments to the front/rear derailleurs. Overall this went pretty smoothly. It could be much easier if the manual was better organized. Some issues with that:1. Not well written or always clear about process2. Poor illustrations3. No indication you must LONG PRESS power button on the Controller to power on4. No instructions to remove derailleur guard, which is used for shipping purposes onlyDisplay – For a bike in the under $1k class the display is fantastic. Sleek, nice backlight with bright/dim option, notates battery power, current speed, average speed, gear level, kilowatts, mileage. Very nice.Display Settings - There are NO instructions provided to change the display settings. This is important if you want to change from the default kilometers per hour to miles per hour. I was able to find the instructions by searching on the internet and am providing them here:Adjust Settings - Long press the plus and minus buttons on the Controller buttons for 2 seconds1. The first setting is "Trip Clear" which is defaulted to TC-n (Trip Clear - no). In order to reset your trip mileage back to 0 press the plus or minus button to change the default to TC-y (Trip Clear - yes)**Press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to go to the second setting (or long press to save and exit)2. The second setting is "Backlight" which is defaulted to BL-2 (Backlight setting 2 - medium). In order to change to dimmer or brighter press the plus or minus button to change the default to BL-1 or BL-3**Press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to go to the third setting (or long press to save and exit)3. The third setting is "Units which is defaulted to U-2 (km/h). In order to change to Miles per Hour press the plus or minus button to change the default to U-1 (MPH)**Long press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to save and exitNOTE: If you are inactive in settings too long it will simply revert back to the main displayGeometry – It’s perfect for me. I’m 5’8” and right in the sweet spot for this bike. It’s marketed as good between 5’1” and 6’4”.Handling – For my purposes, excellent. This is branded as a “mountain bike”, but I would say it is more of a mountain/hybrid mix. It isn't suited for rugged mountain bike terrain and you wouldn’t take this bike on any technical hills. That's fine with me. As long as you know and are ok with a "mountain bike light", this is a great bike:1. Pedal assist and throttle-only are both very responsive2. Gets up to 20 mph on the throttle quickly3. Rides well on the flats and corners well, and you can lock the front shock for flat rides4. Rides surprisingly well over minor bumps, curbs etc at high speeds5. Battery life seems to be as advertised so far. I’ve been on rides up to 30 miles and have never used more than half capacity.Great bike, terrific value.
