Below are some critical reviews about Mayhem BMX Bicycles Newest Model TrickI bought this for my 9 year old after watching a review on it from Skills With Phil. If you haven't watched that video on YouTube, go watch it now to get an idea for what you are in for before proceeding. This bike is not for regular riding, and I wouldn't suggest it if you want a bike your kid can ride to school type thing. It is 100% for tricks, and doesn't even have brakes.The frame itself is pretty nice and seems pretty solid. Mine came almost 100% assembled, with wheels attached and tires pumped. All I had to do was attach the pedals, seat, and handlebar. The only negative is that the seatpost clamp on mine didn't work properly. I don't know what was going on, but, it wouldn't close on the seatpost. The bolt had a ton of loctite on it and after cranking it down it basically became glued and wouldn't move (I almost broke my nice Pedro's tools on it it was so tight, to give you an idea). I ended up having to improvise to get the seat installed, which annoyed me slightly but isn't that big of a deal to me.After getting used to it, my 9 year old has been flying down stairs and bunny hopping like a jackrabbit. He loves it. My hope is that this will be a gateway in to him getting in to mountain biking with me. So far, it seems to be working.Watch the aforementioned YouTube video. So disappointed! We bought this bike for our 8 year old son for Christmas and made the mistake of waiting until a few days before Christmas to put together. Well, unfortunately we were unable to attach the seat. It would not tighten down for us regardless of what we tried to tighten it with. Needless to say my son was so upset when he saw it but was unable to ride it. We ended up returning it and went with “fat boy” brand. Hoping for better quality product.
Great little bike, got 4 stars simply due to the fact if u pump up the rear tire to the right pressure, it will rub the chain. On the other hand the tire's are so solid that u can run a lower pressure just fine.
