Below are some critical reviews about VELOWAVE Electric Lithium Ion Removable CertifiedDuring my first ride on the bike the bike broke. See attached pictures. A lot of money for this bike to break on the first ride on a flat plain street.
So I ordered a new Velowave Electric Bike from Velowave. The bike showed up promptly and we assembled it. Upon the first two rotations of peddling the cheap plastic derailleur broker nearly sending my 82 year old dad to the ground. Turns out the derailleur snapped very easily and got stuck in the spokes. It also broke the shift cable. I didn't realize Shimano made plastic garbage, and why would it be put on an expensive electric bike? At any rate, Velowave has tried to be very helpful but in the end wanted us to first take a brand new bike and pay a shop to fix it. Why should I front this cost on a brand new bike to have it fixed? I asked for a replacement or refund, and they offered to ship a new bike. The communication has been poor and INCREDIBLY slow, and at this point I'm very frustrated that I took a chance on a Chinese made bike that cut major costs by putting on plastic garbage components.I do not recommend buying this bike at all unless you want cheap plastic for $1,500+
Bike arrived intact and was easy to assemble. But a few seconds into my first ride the gear derailer destroyed itself and tried to lodged itself into the spokes. The gears on the derailer seem plastic like, very brittle when inspecting the broken piece.Gear hub is completely destroyed, after the gear broke the chain caught on the metal and tore through most of it.Extremely upset over this as this was going to be my mode of transportation, replacing my last ebike that can't quite handle mountain roads, and was not a cheap purchase for me.

I hesitated to get a fat tire ebike... because I have not ridden a bike in 15 something years with a bike bought from Costco. So I know nothing about bikes, I just know how to ride one. I didn't even change gears I think because well I was young but this tank of a bike... well get ready:I saw some folks riding on their ebikes in the park and decided ok I will get one, they are versatile, fun looking, and have more functionalities than normal bikes, plus they help to cover more ground when going on a hike in the park.I started searching on Amazon... here I will write as I speak so it might not follow grammar... I see the bike Velowave on amazon, ok maybe maybe not cuz its on amazon, i mean it's not a bad looking bike but something in me is asking is this it? It can't be that easy to find a bike, a good one, so I started looking at others I find Opeak, I find Wallke, I find Quietkat, Rad Rover, cyrusher, Nireeka, etc. Search all of those up please see if they fit you better but I ended up going back full circle back to velowave because Im like ok...power ==> 750w -- ok thats good enough for me im not that heavy and i read 250lb folks have no problemcomponents ==> bafang, shimano, kenda -- ok I saw these on more expensive bikes, they were on velowave too, so i should be good... besides, UL is an american government agency they cant lie to themlooks ==> nireeka looks good but i mean... velowave looks good too, its got a beefy tube that holds the battery, the opeak/wallke foldable look good too but.....battery ==> I see these other bikes, name any... they are ALL below 16 Ah in battery cap... wth? yea I ended up going with velowave because of this as a major reason because its just plain wrong for those other brands to charge the same/more for less battery? nope. not having it. Velowave's battery cap beats all the high end ones, yea its heavier than others probably and the components... but I mean when it comes to battery literally this is more than others, and if I dont cheat myself and actually bike without pedal assist I can conserve so much power and go so much further.price ==> get me one bike thats at the same price point with the same kind of reviews, there are simply none. they are all either pricier or simply hot garbage with bad reviews, and you do not want to spend close to $2k with a huge box delivered just to end up feeling like an idiot. get this bike.I can write all day, I can try to bs you into buying this bike, but I dont care if you buy the bike or not, I dont work for velowave lol... I am just some dude looking to the right bike for me and im writing you this as I have ridden 99.9 miles on the bike (see the last image) and Ive ridden it on good road, bad road, over potholes, down from the sidewalk, on gravel, on rocks, on grass, on dirt, just not on sand or snow yet. I rode with about 10 PSI in each of the tires, without any issues (fingers crossed) and I added some accessories to my bike, now its got nice lightss at night, has a higher handlebar, suspension seat with a better saddle, nice mudguards, water bottle cage, JBL with cage, extended handle bar,phone holder, 10000 lumens headlights, lubed up the chain, mirror, turn signal.... I mean I went from 15 years of not giving a crap to finding a passion in a bike, thats gotta be worth buying the bike alone... in wanting to get exercise and get some sun before winter comes, I am eating better, started fasting even, I feel like I have better hand eye cooordination, stopped playing too much video games, and I literally feel better about myself because I have something to do when i used to just go out for a brisk walk, but now I ride around town with little kids calling out "nice ride" "cool bike" "wow" "can we take pictures with you"...... all with a bike I found on amazon? This is a well built bike. The controller is responsive and PAS offers smooth acceleration. I took this on a weekend ten mile single track with plenty of roots, boulders, gravel and mud. The bike had full bars and ~50v on the guage at the end. I had plenty of pull to climb the hills and rocks. The head light is super bright. Shipping was from SoCal and arrived four days early. I will be adding a tail light and a rear fender but this bike is a great deal and a ton of fun!
54 miles on the bike so far and it’s been a dream come true, I ordered it for my 44th birthday and it makes me feel like a 14-year-old again! It has been problem free and easy for me to ride as well as fast and maneuverable on rough terrain such as grass Payment, dirt and mud. Although it is maneuverable it is still a very large and heavy bike and it may not be appropriate for everyone. I would consider any average sized mountain bike rider would pick this up very quickly, casual bike riders may be in for a surprise and should really hold on when they are riding this especially on uneven surfaces, it’s rides like a roller coaster. When the terrian is rough it helps to get up on the pedals and let the bikes suspension do its thing. Be sure drivers are educated before using yes it is very fun but it could also be dangerous if you do not know how to use it, pedal assist should be kept at a lower level for all but very experienced drivers, using hand throttle is a safer bet for precise throttle control. Be sure to check chain and gears for proper lubrication or bring to shop to check. One thing I would like to see added to the next version is a rear light. Must have add-ons for this are: A HELMET!! chain oil and grease, a phone bag that goes in the center and LED tail light or light up bag. A side mirror and horn are also good safety Add ons if you are driving In an urban environment. I hope you found this review helpful I am enjoying this product a lot thank you for reading.
