Just love the bike, wished it had adjustable handlebars, but I can deal with that. Big issue is that this $510.00 bike did not come with a kickstand. When I called to informed them that I did not get my kickstand they informed me that it doesn't come with one. When I asked what am I to do with my bike when I am off of it they replied "just prop it up, lean it against something" I paid 510.00 and have to find something to "just prop it up" or go to my local bike shop to get a after market kickstand. Well I should have also boight my bike at my local bike shop. Thanks custoner service. Not good.
Bought this as an Easter gift for my son who is 10 (Ordered March 31st 2021). He is a casual rider and is not rough or hard on his belongings. In under 3 mos. of ownership, the twist shifter has already failed. The shifter pawl broke internally. After disassembly it appears it was simply a spring steel pawl that weakened and broke in half. I reached out to Mongoose customer service for assistance (June 6th 2021) but have not received any reply as of todays date, June 21st 2021. Since I'm past Amazon's return window (I would have returned the bike), I ordered a replacement twist shifter. I would have appreciated a reply from Mongoose and offer to replace the defective shifter. They may still reply but I needed to get his bike back on the road.The bike overall is not horrible but be prepared to replace the cheap components attached to the frame. Also be prepared for no product support from Mongoose should something fail.*****UPDATE*****Finally received a reply from Mongoose on July 15, 2021. They sent a replacement shifter. Shifter was received and is the same as the original component. Will save this in the event the shifter I purchased fails.

Ok. SO...I ordered a 26, copper colored. Showed being shipped. Then, update showed 24 blue. Wha? I checked specs thinking it was a kids bike. It is, and I'm only 5'4" so, gave it a minute. Perfect fit! Glad I didn't get the 26 or I'd be using a step ladder like I did getting on my Thoroughbred (horse) back in the day. 🤣 Other than that, went together easy! I'm gonna take to bike shop just to check if I have front brake/wheel set right. Getting a little orbital grind in caliper/pads - prob, my bad. I do have a Before pic, then After pic. I'll post both. :::WARNING::: DO NOT ASSEMBLE ON A SLOTTED WOOD DECK! I was lucky. The screw didn't fall down the crack! Therefore, when I post before/after version, you'll see an old, hideous bed sheet catching everything my old, rheumatoid right hand can't catch. Pics coming!
This bike is a good value for the money, and I would buy it again as a entry level fat bike for my child getting into fat biking with me. However it’s not perfect.1) assembly is not easy. If you don’t have experience assembling a bike it will be tough for you. After I assembled it, the shifting had to be adjusted quite a bit which someone unfamiliar with these adjustments would be totally lost. Same with the disc brakes rubbed badly and I had to adjust the placement of them.2) it is very heavy, just know that. Comes into play when transporting on a bike rack or climbing an incline, especially for a teen getting into biking.3) the fat tires are 4.0” wide which is nice, but the tread depth is not very deep. This translates to not the best grip on snowy trails. I’d say maybe half the depth of the tread knobs compared to what came on my Trek Farley fatty. My son slipped out and fell 3-4 times in areas I have grip for days on my bike. But new tires are very expensive, at least $100/tire, so upgrading tires on this price-point bike is hard to justify. If it came with knobbier tires it would be an extremely excellent entry snow bike!!4) it is very good looking and I’d recommend it for a cheap intro into fat biking. But be weary of the tires if you’re using it on groomed snow trails, but it’s cool!
Great Fat Bike. Easy to put assemble. Packaged really well. I replaced the twist shifter with a trigger shifter and a more comfortable seat. This Fat Bike gets so many looks and people asking about it.
