Below are some critical reviews about Joyisi Battery Li Ion Electric BicycleFirst off the product: It does exactly what you need it to do. It's a battery and of course will require you to splice your cables to get to work. This can be soldering or wire nuts, whatever you prefer to connect two wires.It came 75% charged, the first couple charges will "break in" the battery and after about 3-5 full cycles it will be able to charge at max capacity.With a 1000w rear wheel at 42v, I can get comfortably to 25mph, 30mph if on a long flat road and letting it ramp up. I've gotten up to 35mph going downhill, but I think my wheel was govern.Pedaling while full throttle doesnt work, in my top gear pedaling doesnt do any assistance because I'm going to fast and it just feels like my pedaling is spinning freely. This is a my bike issue, may not be an issue for everyone. But a fun problem to have. :PBad things about this, the "lock" mechanism is just a bar that could easily be undone. The whole thing rattles like crazy, its not very secure with the silver sliding bracket at all. The Rack was bent slightly, but bending it back wasnt a problem, but I do have reservations about putting weight on the rear rack.Also, the Fedex mark this as delivered three days before the actually FedEx driver delivered it to my house. They said they found it in their warehouse the night before it was delivered (Which means it was sitting in the warehouse for two days marked delivered). I want to say this is just an issue with my order but other reviews have said similar problems with shipping.I do recommend a battery like this, but don't buy from Joysi. When I reached out to them about where my package was when it was marked delivered, they just kept saying "Others who have had this problem, we took care of them." But never actually did anything to help. And hearing that others were having this issue was very discomforting.
I purchased this product in March of 2019 and I have it installed on a bike for about a year. Last week, while on vacation, the rack/holder sheered off and the battery is useless without the rack. From the beginning I felt like the design put too much weight on the back tire (frequency of flat tires much greater than is desired), but when the rack broke, I was sure it was the weight of the battery. This battery is mounted on a road bike and the bike does not get abused. I contacted Joysi and asked if they could either: (1) replace the battery with an equivalent battery that mounts on the bottle mounts, or, (2) if they could replace the rack. I was told I was outside the warranty period (by 6 months or so) and that they would do NOTHING.They will not even sell me the rack without the battery, and instead they blamed me and said that the only way this ever breaks is because of a abuse.Buy from these guys at your own risk. I have had a few problems with the product and while it works great when it works the customer service is terrible for a product that costs this much. I would never buy from Joysi again.
I replaced my 10 ah battery with this 18ah battery. My old used 10 ah battery is better than the new 18 ah battery from joysi. I have paid to ship this battery to the address provided by joysi for repair. Fed Ex left the battery at the designated address, which was the porch of an address in Texas. The repair technician called me about the battery, during the conversation I asked if he could discharge the battery to test the capacity, he said he did not have that capability. The battery was sent back to me with no improvement. I have asked for a refund but didn’t get any satisfaction.

I was hesitant to buy this battery at first due to the minimal amount of review feedback and poor English Grammer in the description. You never know. But, I ended up being very happy with it. Out of all the ebike components I ordered, this battery took the longest by far to get to me, about 11 days to reach me in North Central Florida. However, I believe that's because they ship from China which would also explain the poor grammar in the description. When you think about it, 11 days all the way from China is not bad. Considering the great price and inclusion of the rear rack, it really was worth the wait. I put it on a fat tire mongoose dolomite equipped with a 48v 1000w front hub motor. It was a very heavy bike to begin with, and my thinking was that having the motor in the front and the battery in the back would make for a more balanced bike. When I opened the first two flaps of the box I was surprised to find a package of ear buds sitting on top of the inner flaps. Was it a mistake, or just a free bonus? I'm not too sure. It was a weird and cool surprise though. I think it shipped mostly charged because it only took about three hours for the light on the charger to turn green. The range is great, just as descibed. On my first ride I rode it hard (lots of heavy throttle use) for over 20 miles thru loose sand and over steep hills. I would say I had enough juice left at the end to go maybe another 10 miles if I was careful and just used pedal assist. If you rode conservatively, just using pedal assist and maybe a little throttle over hills, coasting on the down slope, you could probably get well over a 40 mile range out of this battery. In short, I was very glad I took the chance and ordered it. It was well worth the wait and I would definitely recommend it.
I converted my Kona Dew Deluxe to electric with a controller and 1000 watt front wheel. The SLA batteries I tried initially were _functional_, but the bike had a range of about 6 miles @ approx. 50% throttle use. Since upgrading to the Joyisi pack, the utility of the bike has increased exponentially. I need to add a better gauge so I can drain the battery more fully between charges, but I'm getting at least 20 miles per charge, including some very aggressive uphill segments. On flat ground, the battery powers the bike to approx. 35MPH; even on really steep hills with minimal pedal assist, I do at least 15MPH. Biking 15MPH uphill with little/no effort is EPIC.Very happy with the battery. I wound up using a different seatpost rack instead of the pannier-style rack Joyisi provided, but that was more due to the geometry of my bike than any issue with the rack.When you order, keep in mind that the packs need to be assembled, tested, shipped to America, make their way through customs, and eventually get to your door. This is NOT a 2-day process; mine took about 2 weeks (which was within the quoted delivery date range).Awesome battery, solid charger. 10/10.
I highly recommend this battery pack for many reasons. Price, capacity, ease of installation, longevity of power and performance of battery. On a tantum bike I achieved speed of 25 mph and battery lasted for over 22 miles with little pedal assist.After 8 usages the locking mechanism acted up and the company was quick to respond with replacement lock and key mechanism. They even provided a video to show how to replace lock.I will reorder another battery pack for my next bike.
