Below are some critical reviews about HH HILAND Bicycle HIM009bk 26A406

I ordered 2 of these and I'm going to do separate review on the other one. 1st things 1st, if you're not confident on assembly anything that moves and that could possibly kill your kids, I suggest you go to your local pro shop and get these assemble. I'm in no mean an expert on assembling a bike, but i do have some mechanical experience. If you are savvy, you can assemble this real easy. With all that said, ill begin with the box, this one was opened before since the stapled pins were off and this box was just taped. I pulled everything out of the box and there were some loose things inside, one was the tool wrench and the other was from the front wheel quick release lock. It took me a while find the assembly for that quick release and I almost had to call the manufacturer for it. After 2 hours, i found it tucked in inside the box hiding. I had to body slam the box and it pooped out. Yes, I body slam the box! That wasnt the frustrating part! I inspected more things and the handle had some scratches, my wife were wondering about it, and I assumed this was a return item. Everything else were packed nice from the other bike, this one want. I removed all the protective wrap and hung the bike on the stand. Once I had the bike on the stand, Immediately check for the brake clearance. I had some problem with the other bike so I had to make sure this one wasnt the same issue. (I think that every person that buys this bike will have to adjust the brakes). I was able to get both bikes front wheel in, but the brake were installed too close on the pad on one side or the housing were installed crooked. You can hear that annoying metal to metal rub from the brak pads when you spin the wheel. As I spin the wheel, I also noticed that the wheel isnt 100% true. Very very slight wobble. I hope that it wont get worst though. Anyway, the brake had to be adjusted, but I wont adjust of the wheel alignment to make it true. I dont have any tools for that. Then after I got done adjusting both front and back brakes, I moved to installing the handle bar. After that I started checking the pedals. This is the cheapest pedals I have ever seen, cheaper than the Walmart pedals. After installing that, I begin to check the front and rear derailleur, my 1st reaction was OMG!!! Both front and back were off. Front derailleur cable were loose (I suspect the previous buyer lossen this). I gave up tuning both and got frustrated. I'm gonna start from the very begining again because it got late and my son whom I'm teaching building this thing wants to ride it. The bike does look great and he was so excited. They included the reflective lights in this but on mine, it's useless. It fell off when my kids were riding. But I already knew that would happen because the screw that held together were already strip. My impression on this bike, this bike is not a 375$ bike. The one at Costco right now is 350$ and have better quality than this. This is more like a 299$. But this bike does look good, sadly though this bike and the other one already have a chipped paint.I'm rating this a 2 star because of the assembly packaging, cheap quality parts and who ever prep this needs some evaluation. So far though, my kids enjoyed this good looking bike for their 1st 15 minute ride.Update: my kids been riding this bike on normal pavements, brakes wouldnt stopped squeaking front and back on the yellow bike, and cleaned it with alcohol cause I thought it got some dirt between the pad. Then i realise it's just the cheap pads. The brake is probably the most important part of the bike right after the wheel, and they cheap out on this one. Also everytime you pedal it squeaks and that's coming from the bottom bracket. I Put some light lube it disappeared for a minute but back at it again. I suspect they used a non seal bearing and dirt got inside. I will now have to buy tools to fix this since my bike shop has been over booked. Both bike front wheel wobbled a little front the startand came in like they didnt care when assembling this but the gray bike is getting worst, I suspect that the spokes were improperly tensioned when they assembled this. I also bought some new tools so I could fix this but when i removed the wheel, i noticed that the fork were bent slightly. I'm gonna have to look for new forks. So far the quick release is staying locked on front and rear wheel, twice already it loosen on my kids while riding and it got dangerous on the 2nd time during our high speed downhill run on the main road where cars are close to them.***STAY AWAY from buying this bike! The cheap parts installed on this bike will cost you your life or your kids!

The bike overall looks nice. I was surprised to see that the break lines were running in the frame. Nice bonus. But the breaks were bad an had to be tuned. The rotors were bent out of wack. So took sometime bending and messing with them until good enough. So that was kinda annoying. The bike came super fast got it in like 3 days here in Oregon state. But the gears need to be tuned rims needed to be tuned as well. I noticed also that the tapered stem spacer is plastic an broke the first ride. Now trying to hunt one down. The plastic crank protector broke first ride to but i don't mind that really. The frame is super light for a large bike an the seat is not that firm so not to bad to ride for few hours. I bought it as a riding project so most parts will be change but as is seems to be alright. Id buy another one maybe.

I bought this bike because I wanted a mountain bike and could not get one from Liv the brand that I always buy .. I did not have any expectations on it but when I saw the bike I felt in love . I had previously bikes but I don’t do maintenance by myself so I took it the the shop and they did the job for me... also y asked them to advice me if the bike has cheap parts to replace for a good ones and they just said the bike is perfect and excellent quality. I already tan the bike and feel good. The only thing I did was get new grips and pedals because I run fast on my bike . You could see them at the pictures . Btw when I bought it I did see zero reviews so I took the risk not regrets at all .

Bike arrived in a really timely fashion. Box wasn't ill treated, which hasn't always been the case when I've opted to order a bike online. I'll state up front, my principle reason for ordering this bike was for the frame geometry. The bike is not inordinately heavy; it would be nice if the weight was listed someone on the product page - apologies if it is and I just didn't find it :/ That in itself can be a bit of a red flag for a mountain bike, IMO. I knew that I would likely be upgrading things on this bike along the way as time and finances allowed. Which is probably not the best approach; better to save up for something you really want instead of quickly splashing out for something you strongly suspect will be served with aftermarket parts. But I'm the type who loves a good project. And the bike is perfectly usable as is. Mine seemed to be just fine. I'm accustomed to working on bikes, so little things you'd normally send a bike to a shop to fix don't scare me, especially before an initial ride. Brakes needed tuning and calibrating. A spoke or two adjusted to true a wheel could be necessary for some. Long story short; if you are not aware of the things that should be done for a full bike setup (beyond the simple things you obviously need to assemble to get the bike rolling after delivery), or comfortable doing them yourself adequately and safely, do yourself and your local bike shop a favor of letting them give you the best chance of success with your bike :)A few things I'd prioritize in future upgrades, and what the would-be buyer should be realistically be aware of as things to factor into additional costs for longevity of the bike:-Pedals are really, really budget. Would recommend buying better; $20-30 would serve you well here.-The crankset (arms in particular) seem like they won't hold up to hard use for any real length of time. $50 as a minimum jumping off point, and I wouldn't spend too far beyond what a bike like this is worth.-Brakes, with some adjustment (at least on my bike), are serviceable. An upgrade would give you more confidence, and the ones on there aren't overengineered in the least, to put it mildly :/-The wheel hubs gave me pause. I'd be curious how long they'd last when really put through their paces. -Tires are respectable. Depending on the type of riding you're doing, it may be worth keeping a few spare tubes on hand. And be sure to research pressure recommendations for the type of riding you are intent on doing. Hard tails can be as hard on tubes as their namesake suggests. Also...-The front fork would be on my update wish list. Not that the one that comes stock is terrible; it does absorb, albeit without much travel. But if you take this bike where a frame of this geometry looks like it wants to go, you'll be grateful for a fork that's well and truly up to what you throw at it.As you can tell, it'd be easy for the additional costs to get this bike to a real expensive, making this something really capable. But in the interim, barring a real lemon of a bike, and knowing that the initial setup can be a variable experience for people, this bike is a fine bargain for what it is. You get a very workable, serviceable bike an adult can expand the capabilities of as they go, in my opinion. If you're buying for a kid, I think you can be pretty happy with this bike - again, with the caveat that a complete, competent initial setup is much better peace of mind for them, let alone yourself. Would certainly recommend this bike, even if just with the faint little asterisk I gave at length :P

The bike is great so far. I road it around my neighborhood and hoping to hit a trail soon. The assembly was easy. One thing is that the post clamp would not tighten by hand and I had to use pliers to set the seat position. The shifting and breaks work great. I will update my review as I use this bike more.
