I occasionally use the pedal assist, but the throttle is really where this thing shines. I've found the battery life to be excellent so far. The bike charges quickly when it needs to be charged. The bike is sturdy. The folding capability is what sold me on this bike versus others. We have limited space and it folds down to a reasonable size to pop two bikes in my truck bed and go cruise around. The initial setup was a bit of a nightmare. While it's mostly built already, if you don't have a lot of knowledge about bicycles, it might be a big lift. The instructions are a veritable nightmare and the included link to the video was just as useless. The chain was stuck in the rear derailleur so I had to yank that out. Furthermore, I had to fine tune the disc brakes on the front and back to alleviate the initial drag. I went into this with no bicycle knowledge, so if you have a bit of patience and are willing to watch some YouTube videos you'll be fine. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with my purchase!
I've only had the bike for two days. My initial impression is I'm impressed! I weigh 247 lbs and this bike easily carried me up and over the causeway by my condominium. I never rode an e bike before. I have been biking my whole life the old fashioned way using leg power. To have an option of using leg or electric power is something unique, I know I will love. This bike certainly goes much faster with less effort from me as opposed to my hybrid bike without an electric motor. Buy this Ancheer bike without hesitation.
