Below are some critical reviews about Mongoose Legion Freestyle 20 Inch WheelsI bought this bike as a gift. It arrived with a rear flat tire ( punctured tube ). Also, it is not as described in the manual. Even though I used the size guidelines on the website, it likely has a seat that is too short, and one cannot simply change the riser.I reached out to the vendor on their FB page, and by phone. In both cases ( the only option since the vendor does not work through Amazon support communications ) the vendor failed to respond after several days. After all the time and effort, including buying a new tube, I may have to disassemble and return this bike. If find it very disturbing, and the gift, of course, can not be given.I would suggest seeking a reliable vendor who will actually not ignore the problems. It is both sad, and frustrating, to see such a lack of customer service when they, in fact, are the source of defects.
Prices are constantly going from $200-$400. Even $200 is a bit to much in my own opinion. Handle bars also seem too wide. Besides that, seems like an overall good bike. Wouldn't recommend for serious bmx riding. But good for simple tricks and going from point a to point bUpdate: parts are already breaking down, hearing unusual noises from the rear axle
This bike is okay. Only complaint is the seat. Its really hard and painful to sit on. The front tilt up and when sitting for about 30 seconds your bottom starts hurting. We have to order him a new seat. I think for the price we paid for they should at least make the seat more comfortable and use better material so that it didn't hurt so bad. My son can't even ride it because he it hurt him in his crouch area. The metal are pretty thick and sturdy so if you need training wheels, it won't work on this bike.

Mongoose used to be an elite bike. Although it has turned into more of a production line bike, it is still very nice. Seems well made.
Present for my son. Cannot ask more, super happy with this purchase, easy to assembly, fo far so good!UPDATE: just bought a second one for my nephew he’s same age as my son, I can’t wait to get them to the park together... if I could I would give this a 6th star!
My kids had a friend that convinced them to try out the local BMX park... it seemed like a great idea until I needed to purchase a BMX bike for them. After finding out that nearly every option for BMX bike was either sold out or out of stock with no back order this was nearly the only one I could order. The assembly was pretty much as you would expect with a couple things that were 'marginal' in their description (installation of the safety reflectors didn't exist). After the usual choice words during assembly the kids tried it out. They love it. It's a great bike for the money. For me I needed one they could try out BMX style with that didn't break the bank. if that is what you are looking for this won't disappoint. I'm sure there are nicer ones out there that cost more but this is a great balance of quality and price.
