Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about Macwheel Cruiser 550 Electric Removable Suspension

I purchased this bike and the battery will not charge. I haven't even had a chance to ride it. I have contacted the seller and will update with customer service once I receive a response.

I found that buying this Ebike and expecting it to be any good was a huge mistake. I got sucked by this reviewer at electek, named Micah Troll , and it became obvious as soon as I sat on this thing that it was a nit going to be pleasant. Very stiff and felt cheap. This is the second one I tried on line. I don’t think it’s possible to get a decent Ebike for less than $1100 minimum.

Below are some positive reviews about Macwheel Cruiser 550 Electric Removable Suspension

I did a lot of reading and comparisons of e-bikes under $1000 and decided to go with this one. I don't intend to commute with it, but to go on recreational rides with my family or for quick errands around the neighborhood. I just need a little support to keep up with my teenage kids, so I don't mind that the max speed is not as fast as some other e-bikes. I assembled it with my son (all the needed tools are included) and it didn't take too long. Watching the Youtube video helped with the assembly. I'm 5'3" and I barely fit, and my 5'9" son and 6'1" husband fit great. I'm really happy with this purchase.Pros: The bike arrived quickly, looks great, and is fun and comfortable to ride. It really feels sturdy and well built. My 14-year-old son rides it any chance he gets, and he has a great conventional bike. All the neighbors (kids and adults) were impressed. It comes with a lot of features that other companies charge extra for, like the kickstand, fenders, lights, and rear rack. It also has a lot of adjustments so that you can make the bike most comfortable for you. I found customer support to be responsive. I didn't get a manual for LCD display didn't come with a manual, so I emailed and asked for one and emailed me a pdf right away.Cons: The derailleur guard needs to be manually adjusted so that the derailleur doesn't hit it in 7th gear. You need someone strong to do this. This next thing isn't a big deal, but the factory default for the display gives readings in km instead of miles, which makes sense since that's what the rest of the world uses, so you have to change it if you want your readings in miles.

After doing significant research and following the advice of a well regarded outdoor gear review site, which had this bike as the overall winner, we decided to give it a try. While it is not the exact same model, it is virtually the same bike except for a small difference in frame style and with this bike having an additional front fork that gives an even smoother and more comfortable ride. This bike was easy to assemble taking less than 30 minutes total. All you need to do is attach front tire, kickstand, front fender and handle bar. All handle bar items like brake and shifter levers and the display screen are already attached to handlebar. All needed tools are provided with the bike. After charging battery by inserting charge port into frame where the battery is integrated/removable, the bike is ready to go.The bike has plenty of power and has 5 pedal assist settings. The bike has a very good ergonomic posture with a well padded seat. The bike is very comfortable to ride and with the long wheel base, it is very stable.I highly recommend this bike!!

When I decided to purchase a pair of e-bikes for my fiancee and I, it was a lengthy process of educating myself on the features, operation, and the different choices available. I wanted to spend under $1000, but it seemed many of the bikes were just a bunch of electronic parts slapped on a bike that wasn't much better than the cheap bikes for sale at the local big-box store. Plus, the pandemic had ensured that if I wanted to ride something before winter, the choices were few and far between. After days and hours of searching, I stumbled across this bike from MacWheel, and it looked quite promising -- like a well-kept secret. Decent components, a nice display, and a setup that seemed very practical for the type of casual riding my fiancee and I wanted to do. I especially liked the the complete set of features -- lights, horn, fenders, rear rack carrier, adjustable stem, etc. And above all, it looked like this bike was well designed -- the battery didn't appear to be an afterthought, but was integrated into the frame design in a very aesthetically-pleasing manner. The bikes arrived promptly after ordering, and both boxes were carefully packed to protect the contents. I was amazed to see the stunning paint job had not a single scratch from shipping, and the graphics/decals on the bikes looked perfect. Setup was fairly easy, the manual was easy to understand, and they included a nice little toolset with each bike.I had a few questions during bike assembly, and when i emailed MacWheel's customer service, they responded the same day with very helpful responses. I also found that when attaching the front fender (which isn't mentioned in the manual), I had to use a long-nose pliers to "open up" the two eyelets on the fender stays a bit so that the screws would easily fit through when attaching the fender to the frame. Not a big deal, but MacWheel might want to add the fender assembly step as an addendum to the manual, and enlarge those eyelet holes to make attachment easier. I noticed a video on Youtube that does include the fender in the bike assembly.Yesterday, I took one of the bikes for its inaugural ride, and felt it was very comfortable, solid, and smooth to operate. Out-of-the-box (with slight assembly of the handlebars, pedals, front fender and front light), the 7-speed derailleur shifted smoothly, the disc brakes stopped nicely, and the electronic assist enabled me to easily climb a steep hill without having to get off the bike and walk it. The bike steers very nicely, the horn is really loud, and the front and rear lights are super-bright -- so I felt very safe riding in the bike lane with some auto traffic at twilight.I'm looking forward to lots of great rides with my fiancee on these bikes -- we had been riding a tandem, but she was getting a bit bored with it. These will be a lot easier to deal with on the hills...:) I'm feeling really good about this purchase -- especially when ads keep popping up on my social media feed for other e-bikes that cost almost twice as much and don't have nearly as much to offer.
