Below are some critical reviews about Kent Adult Westport Folding Tricycle

i was all excited to see this just out of the box... then a hard 'slow down'...needs assembly, sure, just will need time, right?but...we just could not manage to figure out the brake cable - the directions are kinda useless, and even with 2 hours, smarts and mechanically inclined hands... no go.so the bike repair shop will cost $80 and a few days. add that to your cost, buyer.also, if you're planning to fold it up and put it in your car, be sure you have.... not a car. if you have an suv, that would be fine. or a truck. but i have a hatchback, and even with that extra room, not happening.can't get the pic uploaded, but the front wheel height or the back wheels width are the sticking points, depending upon the spatial orientation. sigh.sure, the front wheel comes off, but now you have to remove the wheel, fold the bike [ which only stays folded if you use a bungee or other fastener] & remove the hatch false floor to have enough room to fit it. not exactly what i was hoping for. not much room in the car left for my dog, which was most of the whole point in getting this.

First product: Locking mechanism for when the bike folds and opens is misaligned and jammed...Extreme and Utter Failure on Management to send me a faulty product with Serious Manufacturing issues (I honestly don't know why the product I received was still sent to a customer instead of recycling the whole item)Replacement: Immediately see locking mechanism is aligned and working properly (bike now folds properly)Installation require tools (don't bother building the bike without it) but was fairly simple for an amateur bike builder. The product comes almost completely built, all that is left are the handles, front wheel, seat, pedals, rear-basket, and brake adjustment are all that's left to be installed. Fear not the adjustments of the brakes, it takes the most time out of the complete build and requires trial and error. After the replacement, the only issue ive come across is one of the metric nuts located on one of the handle brakes (to adjust it for easy grasping) Flowered open and it will undoubtedly happen again for all who decide to purchase this product. To solve is to hammer it closed and pray that yourmetric-allen-wrench will fit. The other and final issue regarding this product is the rear basket is (manufacturing at its finest) NOT aligned and not flush with its design. I happen to have spare plastic fiberboard and cut them to shape and placed in between the basket and the frame allowing for superior alignment and flawless-flush with the frame. Side note: Seat may also take time as screws are tightly closed but fear not and the right tools with loosen the screws.Pro: Fast Shipping, Simple design but works, Foldable, comes almost complete, in terms of Width it is the thinnest out of many competitive bikesCon: First attempt at tricking a customer by getting rid of their faulty product and hoping that the customer wouldn't notice.malleable metric nuts (seriously "W. T. F.") Please use more durable screwsRear Basket.... Not aligned with frame.... (seriously "W. T. F.")

Horribly packaged, that it damaged the bike rim! I took it to a bike shop for tightening and adjustments. After riding it for 1/2 hour, the handle bar started to move forward, then it loosened so much that I had to walk it back home. The seat wouldn't tighten, I felt like I had to hold it in place with my thighs, otherwise it would turn right-left. Cute tricycle but cheaply made and packaged! Also, once they adjust everything and connect the brakes, you can't fold it! The folding feature is useless because the bike is bulky, due to being a tricycle.

My wife loves her new bike. It is very comfortable. She is 5'2" and the bike is perfect for her. I added lights and additional reflectors. She now has a bell on the handle bars. This bike will be great for vacations. The only problem she had was that her brakes made a squealing sound when applied. I adjusted the brakes, but she still had the sound. I purchased new brake pads and installed. No problems. This bike is exactly what she wanted.

This is one sweet trike. I enjoyed riding it it looks nice all my friends at the time were jealous and we were in our 20s, haha. I love the smaller 20 inch tires, riding feels like you have a slightly lower center of gravity. I drove on wet roads and the front fender keeps you dry, also the back tires are spaced apart enough that the water doesn't fling on the rider. The bike can move pretty good and is better with a peddle and coast style. One thing i wasn't impressed with is the brake, you only get a front brake (no coaster brake) which isn't too bad unless your moving pretty quickly or maybe on some hills. I have long sold the one i bought like 10 years so current quality i can't account for but i didn't have any issues. I just bought another one for a family member but this time i opted for the 20 dollar more one with a rear hand brake. I had no trouble assembling the bike and yes it does require assembly.

Only have two stars only because of errors noted..... Product arrived earlier than originally expected but, it was damaged in critical area - the latching. I couldn't latch securely because metal was bent in sick a way, the latch wouldnt work. I essentially had to "kick" bike together. Also noted, seat ripped (small). And there was only one fender ( didn't know if the rear tires were to have... But, since the manual has them pictured, again didn't know if missing). Lastly, manual did state a wrench (Allen type) was included, but, it wasn't (no biggy for wrench since I have tools)UPDATE- going past the 'imperfections' from shipment - I did contact the company and had no problems with them. Not wanting to return this product, they offered a partial refund. I bought this bike for my moms, and she loves it! I tested ride, it was comfortable but, being an avid 'two wheel' cyclist, it did take me a second to get use to the 'three' wheels. :-) . It handles well and I especially liked the hand brakes (two). The bike will stop with hand brakes (not like older bikes by 'peddle'). One gear is good, especially for beginner riders. I like the 'small' frame (20" wheels), and that is 'folds' part way - which allowed easy transport in my SUV. (fits well in a Toy Highlander). Would recommend this trike!
