Reviews
Below are some critical reviews about Diamondback Release 27 5 Mountain Bikeeven though this is a intermediate bike, for those that know nothing about the difference between department store bikes to entry level to intermediate to top of the line , let me say this, It is a good quality bike however, big high end companies will still cut cost and build a beautiful bike and cheap out on some components like the hubs for instance, so just because its a grand or more doesnt mean its the best, educate yourself, even a 250,000 Lamborghini Huracan, isn't flawless, in every nature of the part, more like more for less. As far as people are concerned its way above department store quality, and thats there only concern, But they obviously dont know the most important aspects of today's bike companies, more for less. This bike was sent to me free of charge to promote the company as a entry level sponsor, within 2 years of wear and tear the hubs had to be replaced from the stock mediocre novatech hubs, to hope pro 4 hubs, so like I said even if its a top of the line bike, youll still have to dump more money into the build to make it upgraded.

If you peruse and oversee Diamondbacks, I suggest you take a second look. This bike is lightweight, uses Fox suspension components, Shimano XT drivetrain and brakes, comes with a KS dropper, a KS southpaw remote lever, comes with Maxxis rubber and wheels that are already prepped for you to go tubeless, tubeless valves and all you need to buy is the sealant. Heck, they even include a shock pump. This 29er is a dream to ride on the trails. It's basically a do-it-all with a 140 front and 130 rear travel. After following Fox's fork and shock setup, I can't believe how awesome a ride this bike is. Also, I find the 46 tooth good enough even for the toughest climbs for me. Welds, quality and finish are top notch. I see why Seth rides for Diamondback. Anyways, that's my 2c.
Amazing, love this bike! Always been a Diamondback fan. Great work.. Even though it's mostly made in China.
Note: I have the 2017 Release 1 model, which came with a way better build than the newer Release 1's. I also love bike maintenance so I religiously take mine apart to clean and upgrade parts as they wear out.I LOVE my DB Release! The frame is aggressive, but pedals and climbs really well still. It is setup to be upgraded with modern parts. I've taken some good crashes and structurally the bike has held up. Over the years I have broken or worn out a lot of the parts, because I ride it hard and like to go jumping, but it is a great bang for your buck. I would buy again, although the newer Release 1's have kind of cheap components, I'd probably save extra cash an get the Release 2.
