Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about Speedrid Electric Removable Battery Professional

purchased this bike and it was delivered promptly. fairly easy to assemble with basic mechanical skills. had problems with derailleur immediately. derailleur and guard were bent. straitened and adjusted myself and bike seemed to work fine.after second ride the pedal assist stopped working and error code 24 was showing on the display. had to contact amazon to get seller info in china. sent email and got auto reply. next day received email telling me to check connections on motor control module. when I did I noticed that the pas magnet sensor had come off the mounting bracket and must have contacted either the chain or sprocket, was damaged and could not be remounted. sent email explaining this and they requested I send a video. could not understand what a video would show that I did not explain in detail, but I did. they said they could not view it because they had to download an app to do so and asked me to post it on you tube and send the link. for some reason my phone would not upload the video on you tube and still I could not understand what purpose it would serve. after going back and forth I told them I wanted to take it to a qualified repair shop to get the problem analyzed and repaired. they agreed, but I could not find any bike shops in my immediate area who would even look at it because they were not familiar with the brand.finally found one about 30 miles from my house, but they could not look at it for at least a week.I decided to purchase a replacement sensor on amazon and replace it myself. there were no manufacturer names on any of the components and when I asked speedrid to provide info to get compatible replacement parts they gave me the name ancheer who makes speedrid bikes. this was no help. I purchased one that appeared to be compatible but it did not work. then I noticed that the red, black and signal wires on the replacement sensor were not matching the red, black and signal wires on the motor control, so I cut the plug off the existing sensor and spliced it on to the mew one and it worked. the error 24 went away and the bike has been fine since. I informed speedrid but they seemed indifferent to the situation. I asked them to send me a replacement sensor, they're not that expensive, but once again requested a video or picture. I asked them again to provide info regarding acquiring compatible replacement parts but no reply. bike works fine now but not a happy camper!my recommendation is that if you're considering purchasing an ebike on the internet that you try to find a local repair facility first that is familiar with the brand and can help you with repairs if necessary.luckily for me I have very good mechanical and technical abilities that helped me resolve the situation. when I pointed out this fact to speedrid they had no comment and have still not offered to replace the sensor or at least provide information for acquiring replacement parts.

I really do like this bike and think it will hold up well...now that I went out and got it fixed at my cost. The safety bar that holds the fork in place for the front tire while being shipped was never put in place. it laid on the bottom of the bike. Therefore making the fork ends bent and the front wheel not centered. (I added one picture, showing the tire almost hitting the fork on one side)) I emailed the company with pictures clearly outlining the problem and they just keep saying do this or do that and if it doesn't work we will take care of it. Well after several emails they just stopped emailing me. I had to take the bike to a repair shop and have it fixed. I should have returned the bike but they had no more in stock and for what I paid for it they could have sent me a new fork.

Throttle does not work it just goes after you peddle like it’s stuck on full throttle very dangerous and battery show four lights with one red meaning it’s not fully charge but charge It a full day!

If this bike was a pick-up truck, it would be an F-350 with turbo diesel and off-road tires. Built tough, rugged, solid. Looks mean. Arrived one day late, no big deal. Mostly complete out of the box. Easy to assemble for someone familiar with bicycles with minimum look at instructions (which were not very helpful).First ride was a kick in the pants. Street is up steep driveway from garage. Selected throttle mode and powered up the drive with no pedals. Once on the street, I took off. If it had wings, I would have flown.Couple of really nice features: Only 7 gears, not 21 like many e-bikes. With all of that available power, there is no need for more gears that would only get in the way and increase the chances of something going wrong. Humongous tires! Comfortable ride and firm traction. 500W power. I'm 190 pounds and I wanted something that would get me up that last hill if I needed it. On level roadway, it's like riding a rocket.BTW, I'm 72 years old.SECOND REVIEW -- Three weeks later. I've put over 100 miles on it in the past three weeks, riding almost every day except during Hurricane Sally. Still a 5-star rating, but a few words of caution.1. Assembly instructions are terrible. A few parts left over with no hint of where they go. Step one was to install the kick-stand, but it was already installed so I skipped that step. It consists of two parts held together with a small screw. After a week, the screw fell out and part of the kickstand was lost while riding. Not I have to improvise a replacement.2. The rear fender is cheap plastic. I stripped the thread trying to tighten it enough to stay in place, so now I ride without one.3. Rear reflector attaches to the seat post, but if you have short legs, like I do, and the seat is all the way down next to the frame, the reflector can't be mounted where it can be seen.As soon as I can make a replacement rear fender, I'll mount a reflector on it and be good to go.In spite of these minor irritants, I'd buy it again. Great exercise and fun.BTW. Everyone who has seen it likes the way it looks.

So far 80 miles. Top speed out of the box no adjustment to the display for me, full charge throttle only 26MPH(GPS reading). I weigh a little less than 200 LB. If i lift up the back tire and give it full throttle, the display reads 49.7KPH. Frame is a 18in really nice. The tires are also really nice. I was expecting them to be the cheap ones made out of a harder compound. Pleasantly surprised they're really good, soft compound, air down really nicely. I'm running 10psi in the front and 12 psi in the rear its perfect. Was expecting the fork to be terrible, but it's not that bad. It is a spring fork with no adjustments, but it's pretty stiff and doesn't bottom out like I thought it would. Expect to readjust everything, the brakes needed to be adjusted the gears needed to be adjusted, the head tube was loose. The cranks sounded horrible, I thought the bottom bracket wasn't put together correctly at first, but cranks just needed to be tightened, alot. The pedals even though there are a name brand are garbage, they flex way too much I replace them with a $15 set from Walmart much better now. The only drawback which I knew going into it, is the battery doesn't have the best range. If your heavy on the throttle but help it on the Hills and help it up to speed, about 20 miles. About 25 to 28 miles if you paddle a lot. All and all for the money you can't beat it. looking into upgrading the battery then should be perfect. With the exception of the battery, probably a little better than a Radrover witch is $560 more. Definitely a nicer frame!Update, Just hit 400 miles runs like it did on day one. By far the best mechanical disc brakes I've ever used, if you have them set up right. I have to be careful with the rear brake if I pull on the brake lever too hard it locks up the rear tire. I've never been able to do that with any other mechanical disc break.

It arrived early, by a week. The packing was superb and the unpacking and putting together the system was simple and it took about 45 minutes. I had only one issue and that was a spacer for the rear fender, the screw was about an eighth of an inch too short when using the seat neck spacer. I cut a 1/4 section out and still was unable to tighten it. Cut off another 1/4 and with the help of my son I was able to get it threaded and tightened; it still was a bit loose so I tie-wrapped it to the rear reflector... it works really well. I will make it Permanente with some tape.1st picture is the finished bike, the 2nd picture is a reminder to wear shoes and not flip flops. I got some road rash on my big toe from the flip flop catching on the asphalt and dragging my foot with it. Thank GOD for the neuropathy in my feet... otherwise, I am sure it would have really hurt.I only got it up to 28 KLMs PH but that was really fun, now to break it out on a long straightaway and see what the max it will go dragging my weight. 240lbs.
