Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about Raleigh Bikes Womens Circa Comfort

Purchased this bike (extra small) for my wife who is 5'2" tall and was very concerned about a bike being too big for her. This was especially true since she hadn't ridden a bike for almost 30 years and now wanted the easiest bike possible to ride. This bike fit the bill perfectly! She loves the color, the nice wide and soft seat is perfect for her, and the three gears are more than enough for riding around our neighborhood. We called our local "Bike Doctor" who came to our home an assembled it for $70. I could have assembled it myself, but he made a number of adjustments that I would have never known about....well worth the money to have a pro do the assembly. Bottom line....great bike for a novice or nervous rider at a great price through Amazon.

Let me start by saying I'd probably give this a 3.5 if I could.I received the partially assembled bike today. Unfortunately there weren't any instructions in the user manual (or in the box at all). While most of the assembly was straightforward, threading the front brake properly and adjusting the brake pads were very tough. There was no specific info online either that I could find (instructions like "connect the front brake" aren't very helpful when you don't know how to connect it!). I was able to get the front brakes connected and working well, after a lot of finagling with the tension and the brake pads, but the rear brakes, which came connected, weren't working properly. Adjusting the tension and brake pads helped but even after that the rear brakes still only slow me down rather than actually braking-- which is better than doing nothing, which was the original problem. And I'm more than a little confused by the quick-release front wheel-- what's the point of it once the brakes are connected? All in all, it took 3 hours from opening the box to putting the bike in the garage. Only the first 20 minutes or so were spent on the handlebars/seat/pedals/front wheel.Given all that, the bike rides nicely (the tired have a psi of 40-65, I think, and I inflated them to 55-- nice and firm ride). The seat is very padded and comfortable. Reflectors are already attached, although if you're going to do much night-riding I'd definitely look into more. I love how easy the seat is to adjust (just a lever). The color is a beautiful coral/salmon, not at all pink. It does seem to have a wide turning radius. I'm planning to add a rear rack/panniers so I can head down to the beach or pick up a few groceries at the store.Bottom line, the bike rides nicely, but if you're not mechanically inclined or don't want the hassle, take it to a bike shop for assembly. Then you'll actually be likely to give the bike a higher rating!

Received this bike and brought it to my local Raleigh Bike Shop for assembly ($55). There are instructions on how to assemble it yourself, but I didn't want to go through the hassle. The bike does not come with a kickstand or lock so I asked the tech to add these on. The kick stand was $10 and the U lock was $35. I absolutely love this bike, it is gorgeous! It's not too pink but more of a salmon color. I am 5"3" and most bikes are too big for me, but the size small is a perfect fit. It is super comfortable and perfect for riding around my beach neighborhood.
