Below are some critical reviews about Raleigh Bikes Venture Step ComfortThis is hands down the best bike I’ve ever owned. My previous bike was a schwinn, & this bike is far more superior. It rides soooo smooth, bumps in sidewalk cracks that I would hit with my schwinn are almost not even felt with the Raleigh bike. The shocks on this bike are excellent & the seat is super comfy. Even the grips on the handle bars feel super sturdy. I was also able to successfully install a bike rack to the back of the bike. I bought the large frame (19) because it was only $135 at the time. I was a bit apprehensive about it being too big, but it’s fine for me (I’m 5’7”). However, I can’t touch both feet to the ground while sitting with the seat in the lowest position, which doesn’t bother me, but I think for others it might. The tires are kenda tires & they’re supposed to be puncture proof, which is nice. Putting it together was easy, just make sure you put the handlebars on the correct way; i’ve seen reviews that gave a bad review due to improper assembly. I still need to do some minor tweaking to get the derailer & back break to work flawlessly, but I’ll probably take it to my local bike shop to have it done. Overall, I’m more than impressed by this bike, it’s such a smooth ride. Buy this bike, you won’t regret it! 🚲
This is a nice, well-made bike, but I won't give it five stars because of the gear system. Honestly, it's a joke with this bike having 24 gears (3x8). This bike has so many gears there's no way the derailleur and all the sprockets can work properly and quietly. It arrived with the gearing out of adjustment and it seems hopeless getting it properly adjusted. I regret not buying a bike with just 7 gears or so and one sprocket on the pedals. I live in a relatively flat area and so far I've only used gears 6 and 7 on the small sprocket. If you're a senior looking for a comfort bike for cruising your neighborhood, skip this one and get one with less gears. Mountain bikes are geared like this and this isn't a mountain bike, nor a high speed bike. I've also had repeated problems with the seat coming loose and sliding backwards on it's track.
