Below are some critical reviews about Raleigh Bikes Venture Comfort BikeI shopped quite a bit for bicycles. I'm 6'3" and weigh 340lbs so I had to be picky. I chose raliegh because of its weight rating and I really liked the way it looks. So I have rode the bike and it is awesome. Pay careful attention to the sizing. I ordered the xlg. I have the seat all the way down. And it's just right. Trying to say this is a big bike. Extremely comfortable, smooth rideing machine.
I bought mine about two months ago. It's still pretty cold out so I've only gone on a few short rides but this baby rides like a dream even on crappy roads. It really is a comfortable comfort bike. Added a bike rack and some panniers for quick runs to the corner store. I'm sure you'll love this bike.The only thing I would have liked to see is an option to make it electric. If you enjoy leisurely rides you'll love this bike.
I am 5'8" and ordered a medium. Seat adjusted all the way down and I fit just fine. If you are any shorter than that, maybe try the small one. This is a big bike.No assembly instructions in the box. They provided all the tools needed though. Find the video for assembly and you are good to go. First time assembling a bike and took me a little over an hour. Not too bad.However, I spent quite some time to install the front brakes. It also took me some time to adjust rear brakes. No fun! So many adjustments are needed. Watch a few videos online before tackling it.Now that the bike is finally safely riding, I never knew how much I missed riding a bike. Experience with this bike is priceless.One last issue is with the front derailleur. It does not go all the way down to the smallest gear. Need to watch some videos to figure it out. I wish they tested that at the factory.If you are not a handy person, it is best to take this thing to a shop and have them assemble and tune for you.Forgot to mention this. Make sure to buy a kick stand and a tire pump. You will need those.
