Below are some critical reviews about Avalon Comfort Suspension Womens PurpleI just wanted a cheap bike to ride a couple of miles to work. This was cheap and had good reviews. The saddle is comfortable, that is true. However, after using a couple of times, the gears would not change smoothly or would jam and it became downright dangerous to ride. I had to buy another much more expensive bike from a proper cycle retailer.
It's a decent bike. I was hoping it would ride smoother over bumps than it does.
I bought this same bike from Walmart. It's a decent bike for what it costs but I did end up having some annoying problems with it. The breaks came WAY too tight, like the tires squeal from friction, they were so tight. The tires are garbage too and constantly lost air. I had to replace them pretty much immediately. I think if you're going to get this bike, just take it to a shop the moment you get it and let them adjust everything.For the price though, I'm pretty pleased with how this bike functioned. I rode it 6 miles every day (to work and back home) and it was fine for that. I also liked that it's light and that I (5'1" and no upper body strength) can easily lift it and maneuver it into trunks / into the house / and onto buses by myself with no trouble at all.

The frame of this bike is well made. The derailleur system was bent on the one we got. The distributor sent us another one quickly. The stickers are a little much. So we took them off. My daughter just had to have a purple bike. It is a good value for the money.
I bought this bike for my senior citizen wife to ride around the campground. It looks nice, was easy to assemble and rides nice. It won't get a lot of use so for the price she is happy to have a new bike.
Easy to use for us old timers. Only 7 easy gears and not 15 which is too confusing
