Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about Mongoose Title 24 BMX Race Bike, 24-inch Wheels, Beginner or Returning Riders, Lightweight Tectonic T1 Aluminum Frame and Internal Cable Routing

I purchased this about a month ago, right after assembling it. I noticed the crankset was unusually stiff. I had to take the entire bottom bracket apart. Come to find out, the thread in washer securing the sealed bearings in the bike was wrenched down way too tight. After loosening it up and reassembling it, I took it for a test ride. Within a minute the rear wheel became unstable and found the rear hub had completely seized shattering the bearings inside. This is a poorly assembled product obviously with 0 quality control. These are made in China, so, I guess this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Still waiting to see what the manufacturer has to say about it. I hear they are a solid company when it comes to customer service.

This seat is horrible! The bike rides nice but the seat is so stupid. You will definitely have to buy a new seat with this bike.

Product images on Amazon do not accurately portray the fact that the seat is FIXED and not adjustable, attached to the seat post. It is very uncomfortable on a ride and I now we need to buy a replacement seat together with a seat post which adds additional unexpected expense.

Our familly is new to BMX but we've got one who's ridden at Nationals(Int 11), one that is practice riding (female Nov 10) and a BMX dad (me Nov 50+). I have purchased 3 Redline, 1 Framed and this Mongoose. The best bike we have is $700.00 and the least expensive was $150. If you want to try a kid out, get them started with a good bike that can grow with the skill and speed level I believe this bike is it. We love our Redline bikes but the "Goose" is a sweet ride. If the Title would have been in stock earlier this year I'd probably own 3 of them. I would have upgraded cranks, a stem and brakes on the fast kids bike. My young female rider and BMX Dad would still be riding stock units. When I was a kid in the 70's Mongoose and Redline were solid performers. I don't want to say that things have come full circle because that would be a stretch. However this is a seriously light well performing bicycle equipped in such a way that you can assemble it at the track and race it. Period. For the price that is ridiculous. The blue "Goose" drew more of a crowd than a Redline Proline Pro at that track. I guess people are glad to see the Mongoose name racing again. The blue is Beautiful.

This is a great entry level, fun, priced right bike that will help people that are wanting to try BMX do that without the sticker shock.. i did give it 5 stars because i had a good idea of what i was getting for the price. THE PROS- besides the above statement, super light, awesome color, solid and well put together, i use to race and now my kids do so i got this to ride around with them at our local track so when i started putting it together i checked EVERYTHING spokes, wheel alignment, brakes pads being centered and tight, cranks i was really impressed with how it was packaged and everything, we have 3 of these bikes now a junior, pro xl, and this cruiser and im equally impressed with all 3. THE CONS- seat isnt adjustable or comfortable at all, i understand you dont sit in BMX but this seat was next level, i would slide off of it waiting on the gate, the pedals are plastic and i never even put them on the bike, i just ordered different ones when i ordered the bike, the forks bent out within 5 trips to the track, now the way i look at it is thats not a huge surprise to me, because of what theyre made for, or out of, if it wouldve been heat treated or 4130 chr/mo that wouldnt of happened AND i dont know that a bike that is designed for entry level is meant to jumping the 25' pro set at our track either... so long story short its a great bike especially for beginners or people getting back out there, for me it was just so comfortable that i started pushing it a little quicker than i thought i would, i replaced the seat, seat post, forks, handle bars/grips and the pedals and now i have a amazing bike that is ready for next years florida state series.

Sadly had to return my Redline 24 to Amazon due to initial chain snapping issues - it is a much nicer looking back but that is moot in my case.I am joining my 11 year old girl (She has the Pro XL) on the track - I am an ex racer (over 35 years previous!) and loving every minute - I didn't want to spend a lot bit wanted a 24 Cruiser and I initially went for the Redline - The Redline lost my trust which is critical when you are on the track. This bike is great - I upgraded the rear brake, bottom bracket and seat clamp, removed the decals (replaced with my own) and it is worth every penny of the price. The upgrades came cheap on Amazon - made a lot of difference. The only issue I have on the track is the pedals - I was slipping off - My wife Mountain Bike now has Mongoose pedals :)I would try both Redline and Mongoose (easy return at Amazon) and pick your favorite
