Below are some critical reviews about Mongoose Legion Bicycle 20 Inch SilverThe bike it's self is a good bike, but there is something going on about this item. I had to order 3 of them to get one that was worth putting together. all 3 boxes had been open and taped shut with clear tape instead of being factory sealed. The first one had the axle sticking thru the box and bent, the second box had holes all in it and there were missing parts and the 2rd one had some damage but the bike was OK.
This is a nice looking bike. The box that is was shipped in was almost destroyed, full of holes and all beat up but That might be Ups's fault. The instructions are garbage, had a hard time with the assembly but after a few hours I was able to figure it out. It is hard to adjust the breaks front and rear. I still haven't got it right yet. I think I will get my next bicycle at a bike shop.
I read good reviews on this bike but when my husband went to put it together the handlebar bolt instantly striped. We were trying to surprise our son on his birthday by having him wake up to a new bike but can't do that with a bike with no handle bar....the picture is the locking bolt and wedge that were striped. We also noticed dents and scratches in it as well.

As an old BMX'er I can handle putting the bike together without instructions and adjusting the brakes. The brakes were set well, but needed some tightening and adjustment of the pads, but they function great now. Additionally, you need to have your own tools including allen wrenches for neck and seat adjustment and 2 crescent wrenches or pliers as well. All tools I had, but a second set of hand is useful to work on the brakes. Keeping tension on the wire as you tighten the nut holding the wire can be difficult.My big compliant relates to a missing part. The box was damaged on one side from the front wheel bolt poking through the box. The protective cap that attached to that one side was missing and the HUGE problem was that the front wheel nut was also missing. My 8 year old was very excited to ride his new bike that night was not happy until I found a matching nut from my bike to use. Now I cant ride my mountain bike. FYI: I tired the nut from my sons previous smaller bike and my daughters little bike and the threads did not match. Lastly, the left pedal is near impossible to screw in. The right side hand tightened all the way till I wrench tightened it at the end, but the left I can only get half way in and I have really cranked on it. I am guessing the threads do not match and I tried to reset it 6 times. I still gave 4 stars as issues for me were minor and I will eventually get the pedal all the way in and will buy a new wheel nut for my bike unless Mongoose makes good and sends me new parts. Fingers crossed!
Stunning bike and no issues with it. My son rides this everyday and I think it's the best bike if all his friends. So happy with it. I recommend buying this bike, worth it!
My grandson loves this bike. It looks very cool too! A small challenge for the hubby to assemble the brakes but he got it done! Would be a lot easier if that part came pre-assembled.
