Below are some critical reviews about Framed Defendant Bike Black 22inFramed has some inexpensive bikes but they're incredibly hit or miss depending on the model and parts. This was hands down the worst bike I've bought from Framed, and has likely dissuaded me from ever doing business with them again. The bike was damaged on delivery (this is just as much a packaging problem as it is a delivery handler's problem, the packaging is not protective at all). Every Framed bike I've got was damaged on delivery, almost always in the same way.Within a day or two the inner-tube of this front wheel failed. I'd seen a few other reviews of similar issues with the wheels, and contacted Framed support with my order number to explain the situation. Still haven't heard back in any way whatsoever, and I made it clear in my request that I was willing to BUY a replacement wheel if one couldn't be given for free. No replies, phone, email, nothing. There's no punctures on the outside of the wheel, so even offering to take on that cost seemed generous.As others have mentioned this bike is of questionable quality beyond that. The entire crank felt like it had not been properly fit to the frame of the bike, as if it were loose. I would recommend looking at other similar priced brands with more reputation behind them if you want a consistent quality product for getting into BMX.
I love this bike. It rides nice and is a good beginner bike, but there have been a lot of problems with it. Within the first week of having the bike, I noticed it would make a loud clank sound when I landed tricks. I couldn’t figure out what is was so I let it go and eventually it stopped. The reason why I gave it a 2 star is because I have to take it to the bike shop within a week of having the bike. I didn’t even ride it that much, maybe 3 days for about an hour each. 3 hours and we are already making a trip to the bike shop to get it fixed. The chain keeps slipping then catching itself causing my feet to whiplash and it sounds like the bike is breaking. The bike is already broken but you know what I mean. Whenever I pedal downward the chain does this. Fun right? Nope. Sorry but I would look for a bike that is a little more expensive just so you know you’re getting a reliable bike. Even for beginners.
The frame seems great, the petals, the crank, the seat and gooseneck seems very cheap, the bolt that holds the petal arm to the crank bent within the first week of normal riding and the entire sprocket is very loose. After replacing all of the cheap parts it will be usable, I feel like I could have gotten the same quality for half of the price.

This bike rocks! I'm 5'9" 210 lbs. I ride my bike hard and fast. I jump it ride it down hills, dirt trails, cement paths, everywhere. It has been solid and fast. I mean fast!!! Ive not had to re-torque anything on it. Pedals were replaced once they broke. After a year I'm finally replacing the rear n front tires & tubes. I replaced the rear brake pads. Again. I'm 210 lbs and I ride fast. Lots of hills and dirt and crazy rides. This bike rides super smooth and planted. I also do no sitting on it. It's meant to be ridden hard!
Bike came in a box and mostly assembled.Took approx 20 mins to attach everything else without any major tools. Good ride and great looking bike!
My grandson loves this bike. He is very tall so the 22 frame was perfect. Easy assembly, took 10 minutes. Bike seems solid and stable. looks good
