Below are some critical reviews about Elite Bicycle Destro Freestyle CopperI purchased this bike after the high reviews and thought it was a great value. Immediately after arriving I assembled the bike (have done 3 prior bike builds). Immediately there was an issue with rubbing on the back tire. This was significant enough to completely stop a free spinning wheel. On closer inspection there was a moderate misalignment between the back tire and frame. The rear tire was very off center. So disappointing. The plastic is still on the tires and it is not able to be ridden. Now I have to figure out how to get the bike back in the box.I was expecting better.
Should have known it was a bad omen when the destro sticker was smeared on the bike on arrival. My son got the bike I never had, it’s is suppose to be a BMX the last the test of time. Unfortunately the bike did not even last three months. The gears from the hub bled its bearings and the gears stripped out. Pissed it wasn’t what I expected.
This bike is unsafe. The front fork bent on my son’s first day of basic use (on his birthday!). The bolt front wheel kept getting loose while my son was biking. After some time the entire front wheel detached on one side and almost caused a catastrophic accident. Thankfully my husband caught the flaw in time. Our bike shop said the bike was unfixable and unsafe and there’s no reason the fork should have bent with regular use (especially not on Day 1!) I should have listened to the negative reviews prior to purchasing.
