Below are some critical reviews about Northwoods Pomona Suspension Comfort 26 InchSad story of a decent bike ruined by stupid packaging engineers. The bike arrived by UPS. The outer carton was a little scuffed up but no major crushing or signs of impact damage. I pulled the unassembled bike out of the flimsy cardboard box, and at first everything looked ok. Nice looking bike. Cheapish components but about what we would expect in this price range. The aluminum frame was particularly lovely -- nice paint and beefy welding.Sadly, the cheesy junk plastic axle protector that should have protected the derailleur failed miserably to do so. The box was too small for the bike and offered no protection to the wheels and axles.The derailleur was bent so badly it was protruding into the spokes of the rear wheel about 3/4" I've owned and repaired a lot of bikes (including my three kid's bikes) and never seen a derailleur so totally destroyed.This is (was) a decent bike for the money before it went into the cheap, garbage packaging that some moron designed to ship this bike in. Kent International needs to find the engineers that designed this packaging and fire them.The bike is a total write-off. Returning it tomorrow. What a stupid waste to think that this bike will wind up in a dumpster somewhere, because the labor to split and replace the chain to install a new derailleur will be more expensive than the landfill will charge to dump it.An extra measley $3 spent on better packaging would have made me a happy customer.Amazon, I hope you are listening. You need to put a stop-ship on these bikes, send them all back to Kent for inspection and repackaging.If you are thinking about buying one of these, I'd guess you have a one-in-four chance of getting an undamaged bike.
unboxed it. assembled. few days later;finally chance to ride. less than 1.5 miles later, the derailleur snapped in two. called amazon. the barely English speaking person says....."box bike and send back. box long gone. DO NOT BUY. total junk.
After about a month, the left pedal arm and pedal both stripped out, almost breaking my wife's leg in the process.No reason for this to happen. My wife is only 115lbs, and just coming off of hip replacement surgery, so it's not like she was really stressing this thing to any reasonable limit. Not even sure who to contact on this but if I waited for any warranty parts, it would probably take the rest of the summer and she needs this for rehab.

This is a very nice beginner bike for light riding on paved roads/light trails. I guess the fame would make it a difficult to ride bike for people having more than 5 ft 5 inches height. Assembly took me about 1.5 hours (I had all the tools and some basic experience with bike assembly). However, tuning the brakes and the gear derailleur took another hour or so (take it to a local bike shop if you have no experience doing this). The wheels were true out of the box, zero adjustment was necessary. The bike is sturdy, but heavy. The rear shock absorb mechanism makes a sound on every bump and I feel it could have been completely avoided on this bike. Otherwise, the ride quality is smooth. The bike also fits well on this trunk-mounted bike rack without any special accessories:
Bike seems good. Wife likes it. Assembly is easy if you aren't compleatly helpless. I used a 15mm wrech. And two different size Allen wrenches. And about ten minutes in the garage. The gear shift arrived bent from delivery. To the point that it was into the spokes and the wheel wouldn't turn. I was able to bend it back straight and functional by putting the ol' death grip on it. But that was unacceptable to me. Packaging is not protective enough. Also it does not have a spot to mount a water bottle holder. Sad face. Bike rides smooth,Straight,Stops, And shifts in all gears. Plastic break handle assemblies. sad face. It is a very good looking bike. Full suspension. My wife loves it.
I love the bike but whoever put it together needs training the wheels are out of round which means the spokes are not adjusted correctly. It took a while to get the brakes adjusted and the handle bars straight. the directions were not that clear. We had to get help adjusting the brakes. Now that I have it all set I love it and enjoy riding it. One thing that happened and I don't know why is the chain came off when I shifted from 3rd to 1st. I has not done it again so maybe it was not on correctly and is now.
