Reviews

Below are some critical reviews about ANCHEER Commuting Removable Professional Derailleur

This bike arrived with the worst instructions I have ever seen. Lines like “use correct tool to assemble.” I figured it out but the chain was hanging loose and I had to have a bike shop tighten that up and rebuild the brakes right out of the box ($60). The seat could be better, but replacements don’t QUITE fit. Neither do gear bag clamps! Everything about this thing is slightly the wrong size in a way that makes it horribly unique! After less than one week and despite keeping it “locked,” the battery began to detach every time I hit a bump. So I added some Bungee cords. I got five flats in two weeks on the original (shoddy) tires, which I then replaced at a cost of $200 in all plus two Lyfts to transport the disabled bike ($50). After five weeks Pedal Assist stopped working and I learned that eBike mechanics will not work on Ancheers even for $85/hr because “they suck,” and after seven weeks battery function has declined to about 70% of what it was (although it takes the same amount of time and power to recharge). So I initiated a return, and friends, if it comes to that you have to ship the bike to ALASKA at your OWN expense. If they deem it defective upon receipt, then they vaguely promise to refund you the cost of shipping. I’m doing it anyway. Don’t make my mistake :(ETA: WHAT A WILD RIDE. The address in Alaska was some random HOUSE (I have friends in the neighborhood), so after three days of back and forth with their customer service I can now tell you the key is to threaten them with having to send someone to face you in American Small Claims court, so if anyone else needs that information there it is! These bikes are horrible, this seller is sketchy, AVOID at all costs, but if you were gifted one and it’s now broken that is how you get a refund. Happy Holidays America!

I had a Prodecho Ebike that I loved but it was very heavy and I was looking for something a little lighter. I guess I did not realize that this bike does not throttle the bike forward unless you start peddling and get yourself going a bit. Then the throttle can kick in. The Prodecho will let you throttle from a dead stop, like when you are at a traffic light and traffic is around you. You could just throttle and then begin peddling smoothly. When you have the heavier bike, it isn’t quite as easy to start moving it along as a lighter bike with no motor and no battery. I didn’t realize this. I would not have ordered this bike if I had realized that. It was not easy for me to put together like others. I didn’t realize the extent of how much it was actually not pre-assembled. It required quite a bit of assembly.

Unless you have assembled bikes before you will find this bike difficult to do with the instructions provided. It took me going back and forth between you tube videos and the bike to assemble it. No instructions on how to operate the bike as well so I have to rely on you tube for that as well. Absolutely no communication from seller so you are completely on your own to get any help.

This bike arrived with no damage because Archeer has protecting foam and everything that can get scuffed is covered. Easy to assemble. Charged the battery and it rode without adjustments. The assist and power level is smooth but still need pedal effort on hills as expected for a e-bike for under $1,000. Cant beat the value. Disc brakes, suspension, gears and good power. We hooked up a kids trailer to it and it pulls very well.

I bought this bike about 3 weeks ago. Packaging was excellent and all was in good condition when received. I'm a 68 year old mechanically inclined female and it took me about 1 hour to put it together after I removed all of the packaging. The directions were not very helpful at all but there are plenty of YouTube videos of Ancheer bikes to help with assembly, even if they don't have your exact model. I found them very helpful. It's shipped with the rear wheel on the frame and I had to assemble the handlebars, front fender, front wheel, headlight, battery rack, pedals, kickstand, and the seat (picture shows my more comfortable replacement seat from an old bike). The directions are fuzzy on how the throttle/pedal assist works so I learned that through trial and error. You have to hit the minus(-) button on the display (high, medium, low, off) to turn off pedal assist in order for the throttle to work, or to pedal with no assist. High, med and low are only for pedal assist mode. The ride is smooth and the disc brakes are good. My model it the City Bike but it's also fine for gentle dirt or grass trails. The biggest issue I have is with the seat. It does not go down past the battery rack, either the original seat or my replacement seat. The seat as pictured is about 6" too high for me (5'7") but I cannot get it to go any lower. I have the adjustable battery rack at it's farthest position and still can't get the seat past it. It's frustrating since I'd really like to have both feet on the ground when I'm stopped at an intersection or whatever, but I cannot. This is why I say it's almost the perfect bike because I really like everything else about it except for the seat adjustability. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's annoying.Another thing I like about it, having had 2 electric bikes in our family before this, is that it's easier to pedal with no assist than other electric bikes I've owned or tried. I like to pedal on flats and throttle on hills, or when my knees have had enough pedaling. It's certainly as heavy as other electric bikes but I guess it's the gear shift mechanism that makes it easier to pedal like a regular bike. I like that very much.I would certainly recommend this for casual use. It's not a trail bike and there is no speedometer or odometer on the display like my other electric bike (that got stolen) but for Florida flat terrain and my casual, fun use, it's just perfect.

I bought this for my wife becuase she has knee issues. I have been riding trail for many years and since the knee issues my wife has been unable to ride. I bought this hoping the assist will allow her to ride again. The bike is very well made and there were no issues with assembly. I was suprised at the quality of the bike and workmanship. The instructions are not great but not terrible either. After completing the bike and test riding a few times I realized that to keep up with my wife now I would have to buy myself one also. The only issue I had was that fedex delivered the bicycle to another home. Luckily the people who received the bike found the correct address and brought the bike to our house. Overall we are very happy with this electric bike. It's a joy to ride that I did not expect!! I ended up buying a mens version of this bike last week and just had my first ride today. That is the same brand Ancheer but the model is: ANCHEER Electric Bike Electric Mountain Bike 350W Ebike 26'' Electric Bicycle. I will be writing a review of that also but so far just as amazing as this bike. I was expecting to pay over 3k for an electric bike for my wife and now have two wonderful bikes for 1600 total. Fantastic!!
